it is said lilies are the closest thing to innocence. purity. the true seances of love is through the pretty colors and the brown stem that almost looks identical to a heart string. they smell like nature and a hint of coriander, looking perfect in a teal blue vase the nice cashier through in for free.
honestly, she was more of a dahlia kind of girl, but something about those dark blue lilies spoke to her. the way the air blew the smell in her face and tossed the flower limbs every which way, opening up the roots that look scarily close to veins had her giddy the entire time.
the flower shop had these gleams that made everything look magnificent. even the dirt had different color browns and black that looked to remarkable to leave them unseen. bringing the lilies to her car, the last bit of sun creased the inside of the flower, and it moves on its own. she bites the inside of her cheek enthusiastically.
it was honestly such a good thing they were naturally beautiful and not just amazing under certain lights.
it was only right they go to someone as beautiful as them.
the stakeout mission, or in better words, the lookout mission for a setter who has no idea he's expecting company commenced the moment she pulled into the unfamiliar neighborhood. it's been twenty minutes and a half since she'd parked on the far side of his house, still in sight but not hovering like a weirdo.
around this time, if mina knew or more so could know about this crush that's strangling her to death. she would've been cuddled up in the passenger seat, grinning like a manic while shouting. " you are not leaving, you have to man up! "
and she'd say something like " i'm not even a man! " and they'd laugh until she realizes mina is right and she does have to formally give oikawa his gifts or forever hold her peace. she turns away from the seat and looks out of the side view mirror, gloating.
unfortunately, it may never be like that.
she can't do anything but chuckle with something remotely identical to sadness. she rushes out a sigh when her lids shut and she almost forgets she's supposed to be on the lookout for oikawa.
this was a bummer.
rumbling the bag of grapes on her dashboard, she pops one into her mouth and sucks on it, so the icy feeling fades. she'd kill for some strawberry flavored frozen grapes, but they never sell them in this part of town. it's always the boring ones; she pouts and crunches into the cold fruit.
in the meantime, she's been trying to ignore how slow time is moving. it seems like it goes by so fast when she's getting ready or taking a test that has at least ten minutes on the clock but ends up feeling like three. now, it's like she's stuck in a car with a timer set for ten hundred hours.
clapping her hands together and making a beat, she hums, doing anything to pass this boredom strike.
the rest of the white paper she used to pack the box full crinkles from all of the movement in the car, and she glares at it with judgement. " shut up. " then she's back to making the beat to sex on the beach by partynextdoor.
then no surprise here, that gets boring as well.
it has to have been ten minutes by now. pulling her phone out of the cupholder, she smacks her lips together. " two minutes, are we being for real... " she asks to herself and groans. now on to the next thing to knit and pick at. looking around the car, her eyes fall onto the white basket filled with goodies on the passenger seat floor.
