You told me so much
Word after word
I listened so intently
You told me
"You won't have to run for me."
That meant everything
I believed your empty promises
We exchanged secrets in the night
Mine so sacred
Yours so similar
I thought you understood me
Many times I've thought of you
Probably so often as you haven't
The slightest touch
Driving me past my own insanity
Comparing our pasts to our futures
But
It was all lies
I know it wasn't true
You said you wanted me happy
That you were sorry
Why?
It was all lies.
