The picture over thereish is Bridget! O.O
Harry half rolls across the lawn in front of Ricky's house.
"Mission get bag back activated."
"I knew you were odd before but this takes the cake."
"Get down!" He tugs on my shirt, pulling me down next to him.
"Harry... Really..."
"Yeah? look!"
"What?" I go quiet as Harry points across the lawn, Julia is standing outside the door.
Ricky appears and lets her in with a very worried look on his face. Did I do that? I mean um... So what if I did?! He kissed some stranger! I peek over the window as Harry grabs my bag and shoulders it. Ricky's talking to Julia, hands being thrown all over the place and then he's on the couch and... Crying. I pause at the window before Harry shakes my shoulders.
"Come on Fred we need to go!"
"Fine fine..." We run across the lawn and into the car and I swear I see Ricky looking out through the window at us, but there's no time to see for sure.
"Thanks Harry."
"Sure and... I'm sorry again about the way I treated Ricky and... You."
"That's okay."
"But..."
"Really it's fine, thanks for letting me stay the night."
"Of course and... You won't tell anyone about my family right?"
"No, not unless you tell me to."
"Thanks," we reach the school and head out, going straight to the hall where both of our lockers are.
"I'm actually okay with people being homosexual or bi or well... Any of it. It's just that my parents... They're pretty strict and very religious in the we hate everyone who isn't us kind of way."
"I get it... Pretty rough huh?"
"Yeah," he sighs as I spot Julia walking with Ricky, her hand on his arm as if holding him up from the weight of the world. Harry follows my gaze.
"It will sort itself out you know? It always does."
"Thanks Harry," I give him a quick hug before grabbing my books and heading to class.
I get there and flop down at my two seater desk... Completely forgetting that I share said desk with Ricky. He walks in the room with black rings under his eyes and messy shuffled hair; even his clothes are in disarray. One cuff of his black jeans is folded up and the other is down, his plaid shirt isn't buttoned up properly and the under top is scrunched and wrinkled. Even his shoes are scuffed.
"Hey..." He whispers and I turn my head away as he sits but I can't seem to keep my eyes off of him. Somehow he's still attractive.
"Alright then..." The teacher walks in and greets us before turning on a movie. Lazy af.
"At least you won't interrupt me this time. I didn't kiss Garth he kissed me. And yes I did kiss back but... To be honest I was in a vulnerable place. I've had a crush on you for ages, you're all I ever wanted, but it seemed so hopeless. As far as I knew you were straight as an arrow and you'd never showed interest before. I was lonely and I know that's not an excuse but it's what happened. I've never had someone be attracted to me like that and then this hot guy suddenly takes an interest in me... I know we probably won't get back to where we were but can we at least be friends again?"
"I... I don't know," I want to be friends again but I still want to be more and I'm still hurt but...
"That's okay... I don't deserve you anyway, but... I mean the least I can do is give you time."
"Th... Thank you."
"Sure."
The movie flicks over the projector screen. It's some Disney princess movie that has my mind wondering to more interesting things, after questioning why the heck we're watching this in history? That's when Julia leans backwards to talk to us.
"So."
"Yeah?"
"You guys talking again?"
"I don't know, I think so."
"Looks more like it got worse to me," she gestures over to Freddie.
He's slumped over on his desk not listening at all with earphones in his ears. His head is tilted over to the side and he's fiddling with a pencil on the desk. He does look worse.
"I just don't know what to do about it... He's my best friend and all but I'm still really hurt."
"I know but he never meant to hurt you. You weren't together."
"But with a stranger Julia?"
"You don't remember Lucy?"
"That was different!"
"How?!"
"Well... I... I didn't know he liked me then!"
"But you liked him then."
"I..."
"Don't even try and deny it. You talked about him non-stop like a kid with their first crush."
"I know I just..."
"It hurts I know. But did you know that he cried that whole weekend because he was so smitten over you but all you wanted to do was use him to party and hook up with pretty girls."
"He did?"
"Yes! Damn it Frederick Caster how stupid can you be?!" She whisper yells at me.
"I... I need to think," I get up and tell the teacher I'm not feeling well and ask to go lie down in the sick room for a bit. As I go to leave I turn back and see Ricky with his head up, headphones still in, and watching me leave with the saddest look I've ever seen on his face.
