William watched his father wipe the dust off the glossy table and placed a candle in the center.
"William, whatever is on your mind you're going to have to forget. You know Charles has hatred over bad emotions."
"But father, I heard screams from the torture room last night. I have not been able to sleep because I'm worried."
Louis patted his son's back. "You know that Charles will not hurt our family. He only tortures the evil."
"Father, the woman was pregnant."
"I know that, son. But remember that she deserved her horrible death. She murdered her husband and fed the body to her hogs."
"I still believe it's wrong." William said as he washed the black ink off his hands from writing. "I believe she was attacked first. She was guilty."
"And stop writing those journals. If Charles finds them-"
"Father! He will not come across them. Stop treating me like a child. I'm bloody twenty years old. I know what's best for my life." William grabbed a handful of silver forks and butter knives then slammed them on the table.
"Leave my kitchen now!" Louis demanded. "All I want is just for you to be safe."

As William left the kitchen he kept thinking of the last thing his father said. 'I just want you safe? What in God's green Earth does that mean? I am safe.'
He slowly walked down the hall, glancing out the windows. Then he watched a door open. Charles came swiftly down the hall with two knights on each side of him. As he came toward William he starred at him in disgust.
Charles stopped before him. "William, is it?"
"Yes, sir."
"You were told to set up my dinner with my lady." Sighed Charles, as he tilted his head down in dissapointment.
"Yes, sir. I was, but my father dismissed me after an argument."
Charles looked to each knight as if he was disgusted. "Who's son are you, young man?"
"Sir Louis Fountaine."
"Hmmm. I figured. You have his appearance." Said Charles as he looked at his pocket watch. "Well I must be on my way. Be sure to clean up that mess in your dorm. It looks like a pile of muck."
"Yes, sir." William sighed. He walked down the hall to his door.
