"Hey man! Watch where you're going!" I look up to see who I have bumped into. Oh, no... Why did it have to be these morons.*sigh* Let's just try to get through this unscathed. "Sorry, man. Didn't see you there. But I gotta go, so could you guys make way?"
"What did you just say?" What are you deaf, I thought to myself. "Do you know who we are?", the idiot continued as I thought in reply, 'An idiot with a big mouth' "Do we need to teach... Hey wait aren't you that guy who rides a skateboard?" Oh, no. Looks like this moron is smarter than he looks. "You're the one who jumped out of that building, right?" Oh, well isn't this just peachy! Please tell me you could tell that was sarcasm, because I hope you can tell this isn't a moment that can be described by a sweet fruit. Maybe a grapefruit ,since they're sour.
"Yeah, that was me alright, but I..." In the middle of my pathetic excuse for a way to get out of this mess, it seems someone decided to join the party. But sadly, I don't think that person got an invitation. "Hey! Who do you think you are? Apologize right now and I might... forgive you."
Everyone turned to find the source of the uproar. It was another boy in the group. Not one of the newer recruits, but not a long standing member either. And the one he was yelling at, you might ask. Was a boy. He had his face in a book. He wore a casual clothes and a hat on his head. It was camo, the hat that is. When the guy talking to him decided to stop screaming he finally spoke. " Please, move aside. You are all blocking the sidewalk." His voice was calm, not necessarily high, but a little higher than average guys my age.
" Who do you think you are, punk? It looks like you will have to be teached a lesson." At this reply the book was lowered, to reveal an annoyed look... on a GIRL! What, but... the hair, and... the clothes? The face says that they are definitely a girl. It wasn't necessarily very feminine or cute, and there was no makeup, but you could tell that it was a girl none the less.
However, at that moment the girl in front of me had eyes that spat flames. "Did you just say teached? If you feel the need to criticize me, then could you at least do it with the correct grammar." While the girl had glasses, they did nothing to protect you from the fire on the other side. And it seems the guy who had been talking to her was getting burned by her eyes... and her comment. "D-don't you dare talk to me like that. How about you uh... apologize now, so I don't have to beat up a girl."
Now that I get a better look at her eyes, there aren't flames in there. Her eyes are this dark gray. They are like storm clouds. And those storm clouds are letting lightning bolts lose. I am glad, I'm not the one those thunder clouds are blowing towards.
"Ugh, not this again. Does it always have to lead to this? It seems like everyone is looking for an excuse to fight. I must look like an easy target. Why am I always surrounded by morons?"
As the girl kept mumbling to herself, her words seemed to infuriate the boy. He looked around almost embarrassed. When he finally looked back at the girl, his hands were tightly clenched. He was going to do something stupid, I just knew it. And as I thought this, he wound his arm back and swung. With a sigh the girl side stepped the shot and the boy stumbled as he missed. After he recovered from the fall he looked up embarrassed but annoyed. One of the guys standing nearby helped him up. I think I have seen him before. Wasn't his name.. Uh. I feel like I was Kyle.
"Come on it isn't a big deal. We don't need to get in fights with everybody". At these word, the boy ripped his out from Kyle's. "Keep your nose out of my business! Stop acting all high and mighty!"
It seemed this guy just wanted to hit everyone today, because he wound his hand up again and swung. Kyle flinched, waiting for the oncoming shot. But it never came. When Kyle opened his eyes he saw the girl standing in front of him, her hand outstretched, holding onto the boy's fist. " 'Keep your nose out of my business?.. Stop acting all high and mighty?" The storm clouds shooting lightning into the boy's eyes. "Don't you see he was just trying to help you. He didn't want you to do something you would regret. It looks like it is already too late for that."
You could tell that he was trying to not let the words get to him. He just yelled in frustration,"Shut up!". Then he decided to make his biggest mistake yet. He swung his fist again, at the girl who was at her wit's end. Everyone around could see that this wouldn't end well. And in the next few minutes everything happened so fast.
The girl first sidestepped his punch like before, but this time took her own fist and sucker punched him in the stomach. All the air in the kids lungs left his body. Before he had the chance to breathe in again, she tripped him, and passed off his ankle from her foot to her hand.
We all stood there holding our breathe as the boy is face down on the ground and the girl is holding his ankle. The look in her eye was strange. She was still furious, but now some of her fury seemed to be directed at someone besides the kid on the ground. Or like she was disappointed at someone other than the one on the ground. The girl seemed to of had enough, so she let go of the kid's ankle and turned to leave.
Well, it seems someone didn't learn from another's experiences, because one of the others in the gang thought he could "avenge" his friend. And it seems the girl was right. She was surrounded by morons.
Just like the one before him, the guy decided to punch her. What is with this though? Why do guys in movies always start a fight with a punch? Few actually start one with a kick. And why does this guy think he has a chance while his friend who did the same thing is on the ground? But I digress..
I am brought out of my inner monologue by a thud. The guy was tripped before his fist could get close, let alone connect with her face. Now some more guys in the group, were getting peeved.
"You think you are sooo cool."
"Leave, bitch!"
"You want to mess with this?"
When turning to see the girl's reaction, instead of the anger I am expecting, I see her looking dejected. But why? She was furious just a second ago. Maybe what I saw earlier, the disappointment, was actually the reason she looks like this now.
The storm clouds in her eyes have passed, but they don't contain the rainbow that usually comes after. She then closes those very eyes, and turns to walk away.
Though it seems, some had other ideas. The part of the group that was just hounded on her, were stalking towards her. When they got close to the girl, the one at the front of the group reaches out a hand toward her. You could visibly see the girl sigh, even if she was turned around.
Just like before, everything happens too fast, that those around didn't even have time to process it.
She turned around and grabbed the outstretched hand ready to brush her shoulder. In her grasp, she twisted the arm behind his back. Then proceeded to kicked him into his buddies, knocking them over like bowling pins.Sadly it wasn't a strike though.Because some pins were still standing. The next two pin heads heads rushed towards the girl, hoping to get in a few shots. She didn't seem to want to oblige and rushed forward as well.
She sliced between the two with her own body, as if she herself, was a knife. Then gave each a punch to the gut simultaneously, whilst passing between them. There was one last boy who had planned to take her on. But he just stood dumbfounded, as she swiftly kicked him in the back of the knee and fell to the ground.
The only ones left standing were me and those who were smart enough not to mess with her. However, when they finally got to their senses, they bolted. So I was left there, alone.
The sound of steps make me remember that I am not entirely alone. There was still someone here who wasn't on the ground. When that person walks over to her book that I didn't even realize she drops, I stare in... awe? I don't know.
Suddenly, when all seemed quiet, one of the guys on the ground tried to grab her. Instead, he grabbed her hat, and that gave me a surprise.
Well, you see, that hat had covered the girl's hair and, to be honest, I was mostly paying attention to her eyes.
So, now imagine my surprise when, that camo hat was pulled off to reveal flames. Short, bright red flames. Yes, her hair was a bright, fiery red. And paired with those eyes, she was something. Something that could change people.
