Opening my eyes, I frown looking at the white wall in front of me. All the memories came rushing back being on Silver Moon land, fighting off the wolves, and being captured by the auburn wolf.
I'm suddenly on a high alert my body not able to keep up with my mind due to my fox being weakened. Sitting up my eyes scan the room looking for a way to escape. Letting a sigh escape my lips I realize that the room is empty other than the mattress I'm sitting on and a table with a bottle of water.
Standing up I take the bottle of water allowing the refreshing liquid to soothe my incredibly sore throat. The only way to escape seems to be a stainless steel door, even a packs strongest member couldn't break through the metal. Sitting back down I lean my back against the wall and wait.
After almost four hours of patiently waiting the door swings open revealing a man that looks to be a couple years older than me. I suddenly notice his muscular Frame and ice blue eyes. He was the auburn wolf that captured me.
"You're awake." he said stating the obvious. His posture is relaxed and carefree which was pretty senseless. He'd be caught off guard if I were to attack him. "Do you talk?" he asks bluntly a frown covering his face. I scoff at his question "Of course I talk." I say. "Well I can I can see that now, you're lucky not to be dead you know," He tells me lowering himself down into a crouch. "If I hadn't arrived in time the others would have killed you in an instant" he adds. I roll my eyes. "I doubt that. If you hadn't arrived then your other guards would be dead, I'm not just a pretty face." I say.
"So you're the Racer," He whistles, staring at my black denim jeans, and black shirt with a hint of disbelief. I feel anger bubble up deep in my stomach "Did you think I would be a man? Sexist are we?" I growl resisting the urge to kill him. Fortunately my inner fox calms me down the last thing I need is a another dead Silver Moon.
"No, it's just I've been told you were a male" he responds quickly, holding his hands out in surrender. I Instantly feel bad for my outburst to his words. "Why are you being nice to me, don't Silver Moons hate rouges?" I ask changing my position on the mattress. "Yeah we do, but you seem different" he says avoiding my gaze. "And why is that?" I ask staring at him "You don't seem to be the kind of person who kills for fun, you only take what you need to survive from the packlands and then you leave." He answers finally lifting his gaze from his lap and looking me in the eye. "Too bad no one will believe you" I say giving him a sad smile
"I'm Aaron by the way." He states. "I'm Allison" I say giving him a smile. "Why didn't they kill me once I was captured, didn't your Alpha order them to kill the rouge?" I ask "Well we don't usually kill rouges right away they are given about two months and we decide whether or not we want them to be workers or wait for their pack to reclaim them." He says "If they aren't put to work or reclaimed by their pack in the two months then they are killed." I sigh and lay on my back on the uncomfortable mattress.
"Looks like I'll be dead in two months" I state dejectedly staring up at the ceiling. Ever since my pack left me to survive on my own, and I had struggled through many things leaving me on the brink of death. I wasn't afraid of it anymore It's not like I had anyone that would miss me anyways. I had lost everything worth living for seven years ago.
"I'm sorry Allison," Aaron's voice called me out of my thoughts. He offers me an apologetic smile rising from the floor "No need to apologize it's not your fault." I shrug turning to face the wall. I needed to be alone for a while so I could organize my thoughts. I hear him head towards the door with a small sigh. "I'll be back later." He states and with that he leaves me to my thoughts. The door closes with a click, and I was left alone once more.
