"The rouge was captured seven hours ago and is now restrained in one of our finest cells." Brandon, my head of combat informs me standing in the door to my office. I don't bother to look up from my paperwork. We had finally caught one of the most wanted rouges across the country giving us much power among the other packs. Brandon took my silence as a cue to leave.
I let the satisfaction of capturing that infuriating rouge lighten my sour mood. The creature had crossed my borders too many times to count and now that my beta had caught him I'll be sure to make his life a living hell. Standing up from my desk I throw on my jacket over my black shirt and I leave my office locking the door behind me before hastily walking down the corridor that led to the cells.
I eventually round a corner and open a wood door before descending the stairs I walk into the darker corridor, nodding my head at the guards I stop outside cell 244 and open the door. I'm greeted with a soft vanilla wood scent mixed with the scent of my beta Aaron. I scowl at the sight of Aaron sitting cross legged on the floor facing a young girl who lies on her side on the mattress stationed in the middle of the cell.
Girl?
The two are oblivious to my presence so I clear my throat to get their attention. My Beta quickly turns his head to me. "Aaron," I say glaring at the position he takes frustrated at him for taking such a fondness to the rouge. He rises from the floor "Alpha Jackson," He nods in response. "You may go now Brandon is waiting for you, to begin the combat lessons for today" I inform him. Aaron nods and retreats from the room. Leaving me alone in the room with the rouge, also known as the Racer.
I turn to face this disgraceful rouge my eyes locking with a pair of storm grey eyes which are calm. That's when I feel the electricity that crackles through the room, and the bond that connects me with her. The rouge must sense this too because she stands upright her back hitting the farthest corner in the room in attempts of escape.
Mate.
Pain settles in my stomach and I resist the urge to leave the room In a rush. I'm mated to a rouge, an animal that everyone including myself hates. This unwanted creature that thieves for a living is supposedly the future Luna of this pack. I accept the chair from the guard outside and place it a few feet away from the beautiful rouge.
"What is your name rouge?" I ask sharply, narrowing my eyes at her. Surprisingly she stays silent, her eyes covered by dark locks of brown hair. "Answer me." I growl aggravated by such disrespect to an Alpha. "Allison" She whispers her voice silk to my ears. I push away my reaction to her voice and ask "Did you truly think you would walk out of my territory so easily this time?"
"Yes," she answers confidently lifting her eyes from the floor to lock with mine.
"Yes?" I ask surprised by her sudden courage to face me. I'm an Alpha someone who demands respect, which she has clearly thrown out the window. "I've done it eight times before, Alpha." she sneers, eyeing me with repulsion. Anger streams hot down my body and my inner wolf growls viciously at her disrespect.
"Well it will be your last" I hiss which only infuriates her further. "No shit," she snaps "Don't worry you don't have to wait two months to kill me just kill me now." I falter at her words my wolf whimpering with the thought of her dead but I remain still.
"Go on kill me," she deadpans her eyes cold and empty void of emotion. I know I cannot kill her doing so would destroy this pack. Without a Luna everything would fall apart. Dismissing her request I make my way towards the door "No." I snap ignoring my wolf as he howls for his mate, I exit the room leaving my mate- the rouge alone.
