So now I'm at lunch with Kayde (yay) my friends (yay) and people I don't know... (Not so yay)
Our group isn't very good at not being awkward, especially around boys, excluding Nikki and Andrea. Those two were different. They just had this flair when it came to being liked so they pretty much did all the talking.
Mr Rude, or Ryan as I soon found out was his name, was being really creepy. I ordered something, he ordered the same thing. I moved seats, he moves seats.
I was pretty detached from the conversation until I here the greatest news, the bearer of good news Mason, announces that Kayde is single. Unattached. Alone. Lonely. You get the point, he was free meat!
In that moment, my social skills went 0-100 at the speed of light.
"Oh Kayde, I'm so sorry you broke up with Lindsey."
I really wasn't. Lindsey wasn't rude or anything but something about her rubbed me the wrong way.
Like lightning, a thought popped into by head. Debs ball!
"it's so sad because it is just before debs ball. Who are you taking now"
This could end really well or really badly.
"Well I don't know. They aren't many single girls at our school. "
He wasn't lying. Even in my group most of the girls had guys.
Once again my super deep thoughts were destroyed my the squeak of Olivia's voice.
" Rachael is single."
Is she crazy! Is she in a drug cult or is she just stupid.
Kayde's response silenced my thoughts.
" Yea.... I don't know about that, I mean we are good friends right?.."
My heart sank. I was shattered. I called my mom and we went straight home. No words were exchanged on the car ride home.
I arrived home, went straight to my room and cried. My first encounter with Kayde and this is how it end.
I had no number, no memories, no nothing!!
