The Ball

Juvia's POV

I sat in front of the mirror as my maid straitened my hair, it has been a week since the near kidnapping of Gray-sama and the death of my father....

"*sigh* why does there have to be a ball....?" i whined

"That's easy to answer princess" my maid said smiling "Its to celebrate your coming to power, and for you to choose a lover *giggles*"

"W-What!?" I quickly turn to looked at her "A-a-a l-l-lover!?" i stuttered

"That's right princess you knew you couldn't avoid this forever and today will be the day you find your true love... unlike me" she whispers pulling on my hair a little

"Ouch!"

"Oh apologizes princess it was a small emotional flare now lets get you in that new dress!" she clapped her hands together smiling then walking off

I stared at myself in the mirror and sighed, I wanted to be with Gray-sama but if I get married i cant be with him...

Maybe tonight i can get lucky! "Here Princess i brought it!" i turn to look at the dress and it was perfect

Gray's POV

I stood outside Juvia's room waiting to escort her to the ball of course because i am her body guard

"Hey Gray get over here for a second" a voice yells to me and i turn my head to see its Gajeel

I walk over to him "Whats up Gajeel?" he grabs me by my collar and pulls me out of sight an then looks me in the eyes

"Ok here's the deal i cant be by the princess tonight while the completion for her future husband is going on because of personal reason-"

I cut him off before he can continue "Its because the Levy girl coming aint it?" his eyes go wide and growls at me

"Shut up about that! i dont know where you heard that but be quiet about it!"

"Ok, Ok, love bird now what do you want me to do about your shift?"

I obviously pissed him off again but he kept his cool enough to keep talking "you gotta guard Juvia tonight instead you're the only guy who can, so no wandering off during the party and no drinking!"

"Fine i got it no wild party mode, I'll keep her safe but can you explain the competition that'll be happening."

He thinks for a second then bursts out laughing, "The stupid competition is ridiculous! Its a race i grab this necklace and give it to her first guy to do it gets her hand in marriage so every rich guy is trying tonight!" he slaps his knee dying of laughter, "Oh lord just imagine those fatties trying to do it this'll be hilarious!"

He walks away still laughing an i just turn and walk back to Juvia's room and knock on the door

"Oi Juvia we gotta get going soon you done yet?"

"Oh Gray-sama! I didnt know you would escort me I'll be right out!"

I lean on the wall this time to make sure i dont fall this time and watch the door open

And there she stood in a beautiful dress almost like one from a wedding but blue

I felt my cheeks flush and quickly turned trying not to let her notice "How do i look Gray-sama?" she said hugging me from behind she was obviously messing with me and wasnt serious so I'll just roll with it, "You look amazing princess."

Juvia's POV

I cant believe it!!

Gray-sama just called me amazing because i looked good >\\\\< best day ever!!!

He was being serious like i was i wish this would last forever

"Anyways Princess-"

"Call Juvia, Juvia"

"Sorry but today i cant its a serious day and i got to be respectful as your guard" Gray-sama can be so lame sometimes....

"Whatever Juvia rather be called Juvia but we have to hurry or we'll be late!" i link my arm with his and start to run to the ball

I think as i look around

Hundreds and all looking different it was kind of overwhelming....

I lean against Gray-sama hugging his arm and i feel him flinch for a second but he doesn't pull away, he's the best :3

"Princess we should head to your thrown for the night so everyone knows you're here." Gray-sama says

"A-alright Gray-sama..." we start to walk and i feel so nervous! Tonight is going to be so stressful!!

"Hey you must be The Princess Juvia!" i voice behind us says and we quickly turn

Its a man in his early twenties with pink hair and a blue cat on his shoulder

"O-oh h-h-hello nice to meet yo-" before i can finish he darts forward and punches Gray-sama in the face causing Gray-sama to fall on his back

"Gray-sama!!" i prepare my gauntlet ready to fight till i hear Gray-sama laughing

"Been a while eh Natsu?"

"Sure has ice freak."

"Flame brain!"

"Stripper!"

"Dont bring that up Idiot!" Gray-sama yells as he tackles Natsu and they start rolling around wrestling

-.- "G-Gray-sama...?" i ask quiet confused

"Yes?" he asks while punching Natsu in the face like all this was normal

"What's going on???" i yell not know what to do and feeling quiet embarrassed as people stare and laugh

"Oh this? He's an old friend at the guild i lived at before coming here."

"Yeah Gray was part of us then he got scared of me one day and ran away haha!"

"No i did not you lying piece of-!" before another word could be said a red haired woman walks between them grabbing their heads and smashing them together

"Gray! Natsu! is this anyway to act at a ball!!" she yells and i was quiet taken back by how scared they looked

"N-No of course not sorry Erza!!!" they both say together panicking "I thought so, now both of you guard your princesses! Natsu Lucy is looking for you and Gray yours has seen this whole mess go make up for it!"

"Yes right away!" they both say together again and run of in different directions Gray-sama of course coming back to me

"So what was that all about...?"i ask

"I'll tell you later lets just get ggoings e says taking my hand and running through the ball room

"O-ok..." i say looking at our hands blushing
