Purely Black

"It's green!" He exclaimed. I chuckled at my brothers outburst.

"I noticed... Actually, I did it." I swiped my hand through my hair. "Do you not like it?" I asked, biting down onto my lip ring,

"No! I love it. It's just that, this is a new color. You've done like every other color, red, blue, orange, pink... but this is the first time you've done green...ever!" He said. "But I definitely like it... It might actually be your best color yet." I grinned.

"Thanks, Xander." He hugged me. I had died my hair just a few hours ago. It had been red for about two months and I was beginning to feel tied down to the color so I decided that it was time for a change. So, out of the blue I just changed it. I didn't warn anyone.

"No problem, Griffyn. Now, lets get ready for our show." I nodded, walking into the backroom that was made for us to get changed. There were dividers that separated the room into three parts for us to change. I walked into mine and quickly started to slip on my outfit that consisted of a 5 Seconds of Summer 'Reject' shirt, a pair of black shorts over a pair of lace tights and a blue, black and red flannel. I slipped on my black combat boots and black lace gloves and walked out to find that I wasn't the first one done. I nodded approvingly at my brothers outfit. He was wearing a Green Day 'American idiot' tee shirt, a pair of black skinny, black biker gloves and black converse. My brother and I had very similar tastes in clothing.

But that topic brings us to Stella, who had just walked out of her section twirling her drumsticks in her hands as she hummed along to a tune in her headphones. She dressed completely different from Xander and I. She was wearing a black skater skirt along with a sleeveless, denim shirt that was tied right above her bellybutton. Her outfit was finished off with black and white converse and white lace gloves. Unlike my brother and I who usually wore band tee shirts, flannels and skinny jeans, Stella always wore skater skirts and a tee shirt tucked in.

But it's okay because our drummer could pull of the innocent look but beat the hell out of that drum set and that was perfect for us. "I still can't believe you didn't tell me that you were dying your hair green! It's like the lip piercing all over again." I blushed when she mentioned that. I'd gotten my lip piercing along with my bellybutton piercing when I was 16 without the consent of my parents and it's safe to say that they weren't very pleased. "We live together for gods sake!" I rolled my eyes.

"Look, it was a last minute decision okay. I didn't even know I was gonna do it." I said as I grabbed my red and black electric guitar and swung the strap over my head. My brother grabbed his bass of the same colors and we made our way to the stage.

"Yeah, well you owe me now." I nodded.

"Fine. I'll pay for any food you want after this, alright?" She seemed to think about it before nodding.

"That seems fine." I rolled my eyes, playfully and grabbed the set list to make sure I know the order of the songs.

1. Weightless- All Time Low

2. Somethings Gotta Give- All Time low

3. All The Small Things- Blink-182

4. Check Yes Juliet- We The Kings

5. Social Casualty- 5 Seconds of Summer

6. The Only Reason- 5 Seconds of Summer

7. Absolutely (Story of a Girl)- Nine Days

8. Move Along- All-American Rejects

9. Dirty Little Secret- All-American Rejects

10. American idiot- Green Day

I placed the list down and took my place behind the curtain as we were being introduced by Josh, the owner of Haye's Pub. I turned to the other's ready to start our pre-show ritual. We all huddled together, wrapping our arms around each other. Since I was the band's singer, Xander and Stella always lead the huddle. We all started to run in place rapidly, backs hunched.

"Are you guys pumped!" Xander yelled.

"Yeah!"

"Are you ready!" Stella this time.

"Yeah!"

"Then are we gonna have a good show?" Xander.

"Yeah!"

"And who are we?" Stella.

"Purely Black!" Xander and I yelled.

"I can't hear you!" Stella again.

All together we yelled, "WE ARE PURELY BLACK! AND WE'RE GONNA ROCK THE FUCK OUT OF THAT CROWD!" We stood straight before fist pumping twice and racing onto the stage. I placed my lips on the cold metal of my locket right before stepping out in front of the crowd. I took my place in front of my mike stand and Xander did the same. Stella took her seat behind the drums. I smiled at the packed bar in front of us.

I still couldn't get over what had happened to us. When we'd came in for this job we just thought we'd be one of those bar bands, you know. Not too much recognition but they were still good. But after our first concert people started spreading the word about us and then people started showing up at our shows. We perform on Friday and Saturday nights and the place would be packed to the rims. We turned Haye's pub into the place to visit in Los Angeles. Now, these performances started to become more like concerts than anything. People would cheer and video tape us and it felt amazing.

"Hello Los Angeles!" I yelled into the mic. The cheering significantly got louder and I grinned. "Before I start I would like to know some things. Who here lives in Los Angeles but has never been to a show." There was no sound. I burst out laughing. "Alright. How about people who don't live here and heard that this place was cool." I heard a roar of applause. I grinned. "Well, I hope this show turns out great for you. I think it will but hey, I guess we'll have to find out."

"Griffyn, stop talking and sing!" I heard from the mic behind me. I glared at Stella but Xander decided to speak up.

"Yeah, Griff. Come on start the song." He turned to the crowd. 'This is 'Weightless' by All Time low." I started the guitar and sang just as the drums kicked in. The base kicked in and we're all rocking out on stage. Xander and Stella sang the backups and I think we sounded great. We went through the full set and it almost seemed too soon when we play the last few chords of American Idiot. We said our goodbyes to the crowd and made our way backstage. We were stopped by Josh, our manager, who smiled at us.

"Hey, guys! That was a great show! Really. I just wanted to let you know you have some new guests backstage." We nodded. That wasn't too unusual. Sometimes a fan would want to come back and talk to us and usually they're allowed. We set our instruments down and I hop on my brothers back. My adrenaline was still pumping and had way too much energy that was dying to come out. He laughed as I started to belt out the lyrics of She's Kinda Hot. Soon enough they joined me in my horrifying rendition of the newly popular 5SOS song. I was practically shouting the lyrics.

Halfway through the chorus, I stopped singing along with the others as my eyes went wide at the sight in front of me. We had just walked into the back room and sitting on the couch were four very familiar boys that had very amused expressions on their faces. I hopped off of Xander's back, smoothing out my shirt. I could practically feel the burn of my blush.

"H-Hi."
