Alpha Code

Part one: It's an Alpha

I woke up in a field, again. This made the fifth time this month i did this. I reached in my pocket and grabbed my phone. I opened maps and found out i was pretty far from home. The light of the moon guided me as i made my way through the woods. Ever since i was little i liked to track birds and bears so the woods was like home.

"I am Linn Caris, and i have a standing apointment with Dr. Alice." I said in a clear voice to the heavier girl seated behind the glass.
"Okay, im gonna need your information." She replied in a high pitched voice. She adjusted her shirt (wich ment pulling the front up and then down farther than it had been). I looked at her in disbelief. Really? This is a kids and teens office and your sitting here practically flashing everyone in here!
"Excuse me, what is your birth date?" She looked up.
"The 1st of October 2028" i said proud i was already sixteen. She gave me an almost sad look and continued typing.
"I cant help notice, your hair is in a bun. Ladies are supposed to have their hair down unless their married. Are you married?" She inquired suspiciously raising an eyebrow. 
"I am a huntress and my hair would only prove useless if it should catch in my quiver. And to be respectfull i wish that you not inquire about anythong more than whats needed legally" i looked at her with narrowed eyes and swore she sniffed me.

I looked at her odly and she must have seen it because she looked down and said i could have a seat and wait for my doctor. My mother had made this apointment the third time i woke up in a field. I loved her dearly but everything depends on a doctor with her. I sat and waited for my doctor to call me in.
"Caris? Linn Caris?" A short nurse inquired. Her legs looked like they bent backward the way she was standing. Nonsense i told myself, just my imagination... Right? I pushed it to the back of my mind and walked with her to the room. She told me somone would be by to take my vitals and a Doctor Gray would see me today. I was upset but Gray is a cool last name. A very tall and intimidating man came in accompanied by a shorter man and a very short woman. They sat down and looked at me and then at eachother and then back at me.
"What seems to be the problem?" The tallest man asked. "But first i am Dr. Gray, this is my coleague Dr. Bella, and my personal friend Dr. Cane."
"I am linn caris. Um, well i guess my problem is sleep walking" i said almost turning that into a question. "I keep waking up in fields pretty far from my home and its very bothersome."
"It's natural for an omega such as yourself to wander durring the night, didn't your mother or father tell you this already?" Dr. Bella sounded shocked.
"An o-omega? What's that?"
"A wolf darling, your a where wolf. I could smell if down the hall."
"You mean to tell me i am a monster, and my parents wouldn't even tell me?"
"It looks that way." I lost it. I started swearing and i got pretty violent and blacked out. I came back to in a five point restraint and it smelled like wet dog. I looked around and saw all three of the doctors standing there with grins.
"We have never seen a transformation in omegas that was that... Ferocious" Dr. Grey smiled. "Your gonna go far kid". I was confused but he snapped his fingers and then the restraints were off.
I stood up and looked at them.
"What do i do now?"
"Here take this" Dr. Bella gave me a card with an adress that said support group for special kids. That made me wonder, special as in wolf, or special as in special needs. Oh well it will get me out of the house for a while. I started walking out the door when Dr. Grey stopped me. He handed me a dog collar and told me not to take it off unless it was an emergency. He said the metal makes it much harder to change when i get angry. I walked out of the office and the girl at the window gave me a wide eyed look when she saw my collar. I wanted to take it off and choke her with it. And what was so special about this chain anyway? I walked out and started home when this urge to run there practically took over every part of me. Before i knew it i was sprinting home. There were people all over the streets and it made me wonder what they were, but i was too busy weaving in and out of them and jumping over stuff so i had a clear path. I jumped over a fire hydrant and somone caught me arm. Almost dislocating it the person dragged me into an ally way.
"Your not one of them are you?" I realised the voice. It was my friend Garret. He looked nervous and he smelled off, to me. His eyes flashed and i swore i was seeing things but his eyes had turned and icy grey, and then back to green.
"How would you even know about that?" I asked and he grabbed part of his shirt in a fist and shook it. I could hear the sound of a heavy chain hitting itself. He pulled me in for a hug and just held me there. He seemed to be dooing somthing because his breathing was odd. Then it clicked i pushed away from him and gave him a wierd look.
"Don't. Even. Tell. Me. You. Just. Sniffed. Me." I said dileberatly making each word clear.
"You smell different. Would you come with me to a support group?" Garret asked me catching me off guard. I looked at him wide eyed.
"It's like a huge friging welcome party isn't it?" I said and felt hot tears fall down my face. There were only a few, but it was enough.
"Hey relax, your okay" he said sweetly "no actually i want you to join my pack." He smiled meekly and waited for a response.
"Your pack? As in you run said pack? as in my best friend is an alpha?" I knew i was just repeating stuff to stall. He nodded at each question. I looked up at him and was shocked.
"So when is said support group?" I asked teasingly "and what should i wear?"
"What your in is good and how about it starts five minuets ago?" He smirked. I froze so he already knew? I didn't have time to dwell on it because in a mater of about ten seconds he had me on his back and was scaling the wall. He climbed effortlessly to the roof and i was scared. A roof party? But the roof was deserted. Garret started bounding across the roof toward another building. I held him tighter and felt him push off the ground.

I was weightless and it felt so odd to have no gravity holding you down. Then we hit the ground. Garret pulled his chain off and threw it while we were in mid jump. He changed while i was holding on to him. We landed with him skidding to a stop on all fours and me clinging to him for my life. I got off and stood infront of him. His eyes were the icy grey i saw earlier.
"Garret that was dangerous." I yelled. He sat and as fast as he had changed he changed back and threw the chain back around his neck.
"Dosn't matter we're here. Its down one flight of stairs." He motioned to the door on the roof. Okay so up 12 flights of stairs, or scale a wall jump a building and down one? I didn't know what it was going to be like down there. I walked cautiously down the stairs and then the smells started hitting me. There was alcohol and it smelled really strong. I could smell cigarettes and weed. I was almost excited to be here eith those three alone but then somthing shocked me. I could smell a wolf, and it was so strong it practically called my name. I wondered what that meant and i wanted to find out. I walked toward the smell and it just got stronger and stronger. I walked absentmindedly and then the smell faded. I was upset because it was so sweet and inviting. I walked back over to garret who was with a group of guys. They all eyed me as i walked up. I felt uncomfortable. I hadnt changed out of my corseted dress and my hair was braided. It felt so wierd to be around these guys but at the same time i got this really wierd sense of family and belonging. One of then grabbed my hand and smiled.
"Darn" he said "i'd say its a waste for such a pretty young lady to be what you are, but chick on chick action at your welcome party sounds hot!" Garret almost ripped his throat out and i told garret to back off. He looked at me shocked by my tone and dropped his head as though he was beaten to submission.

The kid opened his arms for a hug and i gladly obliged. He wispered to me that his name was Hades and he was the beta should i need anything. I smiled and said thank you. Garret walked away while hades introduced me to a few others and they saluted me by crossing their arm over their body and placing their fist over their heart. I guess it shocked hades as much as it did me, because then hades asked me a question.
"Would you mind if i sniffed you? I know thats wierd to ask but they are greeting you like a female alpha. I just want to see somthingg is all." I nodded and he gave me a hug. I almost didn't notice when he actually sniffed me. He straightened and saluted me with the same gesture. Garret came back with a few drinks and a cigarette already lit for me. I took the cigarette and puffed on it slowly. Garret noticed the gesture hades had given me. They stepped away for a few minuets and talked. I made my way over to a chair that was not being used and a few girls came over to me.
"Hey what the hell do you think your dooing in my seat." The first one said.
"You smell like an alpha bitch" a shy looking one said, earning a laugh from the group. Before a third one had time to make a comment i stood up and felt a surge of power rush through me.
"Why don't you cork your bulshit spitters and go waste somone elses time because your certainly not worth mine." I didn't realise that i had used an alpha tone or that that was a thing, and i also didnt realise until after that my canine teeth had dropped about half an inch farther than where they were supposed to be. The girls looked at me wide eyed and dropped there heads. All of them consecutivly turned and thats when i noticed everyone staring at me. Hades stepped forward followed by Garret and both of them saluted me with their fists over their hearts. Hades gave me a wild smile and his canines had dropped too. Garret smiled slightly and i saw a flash of sadness in his eyes.
"Hades can i talk to you?" I asked quietly.
"Anything for the alpha-female" he said cheerily. We stepped away from the groups that had formed and i looked up at him.
"Why is garret upset?" I asked genuinly concerned.
"Alpha males and alpha females are supposed to be mates. But it's pretty obvious that that cant happen." Hades said. "You don't smell straight to anyone in here... And thats totally cool... Just its super obvious to everyone, except garret."

I was shocked. I told him when we were 12 that i wasn't straight and he fought me every step of the way. He told me he didn't  like any of my girlfriends i had introduced to him, and he said i would make a prettier straight girl. I thought he was joking but i realised he must have already smelled that i was hoing to be one of them. He acted like he wanted me to be his mate, but i knew from mythology class mates find eachother it isnt forced.
