Recap of the previous chapter-

The temple was filled with a sense of peace, as if time had slowed down in reverence to the holy atmosphere. Among them, Taehyung too had closed his eyes, appearing like the rest in solemn prayer. But as Yn bowed her head and shut her eyes, something stirred within him.

He peeked through his lashes and slowly tilted his head, his gaze catching her serene side profile. A soft, almost involuntary smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

In that moment, a silent confession poured out of his heart, not in words spoken aloud, but in a prayer too intimate to be shared. "God," he thought,

"whenever I am around her, I feel different. Whenever she smiles, something inside me flutters. Whenever I see her tears, something inside me shatters. When she feels low, all I want is to go and hold her. I claimed to hate her-I even believed I did from the very beginning of our marriage. But now... I can't even do that. What is happening to me? Why do I feel like this around her?"

As he opened his eyes, searching for clarity, he found Yn lowering herself to her knees in deep respect, bowing her head until it touched the sacred ground. His breath caught at the sight. Without thinking, and almost as if pulled by something greater than himself,

he bent down too-not in front of the deity, but on the very spot where she had just knelt. Quietly, with no one noticing, he let his forehead touch the same space, as though drawn to the trace of her presence left behind. It was an act not of ritual, but of something unspoken-raw and real. Then, quickly regaining himself, he stood upright and brought his hands together once more in prayer, this time not just before God,

but before the feelings he could no longer deny.

Everyone stood in silence, eyes closed, hands folded in front of the ancient temple's divine aura. The chants, the breeze, and the chimes made everything feel surreal.
Diya too, closed her eyes - unaware of the eyes that hadn't shut at all.

Jungkook stood behind her.

Not by coincidence.
But by choice.
His hands joined like everyone else's - but not in front of the deity.

He silently whispered, his eyes open, looking at her peaceful profile.

"Diya... mujhe kabhi pata nahi tha ki main apni sister-in-law ki best friend se pyaar kar baithunga."
("Diya... I never knew I'd fall for my sister-in-law's best friend.")
