It was a late night, I sat at my computer, typing up the rest of my essay in the darkness of my room. I propped my elbow up onto my desk, setting my chin to rest on my hand. I yawn. This was going to kill me. The essay was due in the morning, and I was about halfway through, then I would have to edit it. My eyes droop slightly as I stared at my screen with a bored expression. Rain patters on the roof, gently tapping on my window, beckoning for me to look at it, beckoning for my attention. It had been raining since I started typing, now it was raining harder. I give a soft sigh and rub my eye tiredly. I was not going to finish this. I move the mouse and go to click save, yawning. My alarm clock goes off causing me to jump and almost fall out of my office chair.
I look towards the clock and groan. "This early already?" Inhaling deeply, I ignore the alarm and turn around, moving the mouse again to click save. Then, the worst possible thing happened. The power was cut off by the storm. My computer shuts off without me getting to save my work. "Crap." I growl under my breath and push away from my desk, standing up. The sound of my alarm clock still ringing made my stomach turn. If the power went out, why the hell was my alarm still on? "Chance, get a grip. You're just tired, just need sleep." I was still mad about my essay, but I needed to sleep. I walked to my dresser and unplugged the alarm clock and I made my way to my bed.
When I approach my bed, I allow myself to drop down onto the mattress, that now seemed to feel like Heaven. I cuddle up into the bed, clutching my pillow tightly, laying atop the covers. I close my eyes and sigh. I haven't slept good in a long while, maybe I could get some good sleep today. Everything around me faded into a void of darkness and silence. It was almost peaceful. The loud ringing of my alarm broke the silence. I sat up quickly and looked over at it. "What. The. HECK?" I give a loud groan. I get up and walk to the alarm, grabbing it, throwing it on the ground. It continued to ring.
I kick it across the room, it only continued and seem to grow louder. I storm to it and I pick it up hastily, throwing it at the opposite wall. "Shut up!" I yell.
(In younger sister's Point Of View)
I wake up hearing Chance shouting at something. I throw the covers off of myself and I get off my bed. My brown hair falls down my shoulders. I walk out my door and down my hall. I hear something crash against his wall and I hear other things crash against the ground. I rush to his room and open the door. "Chance, are you okay?" I squeaked and grew silent as soon as I saw him laying on his bed, curled into a tight ball, mumbling quietly. His computer was thrown onto the ground, his alarm clock was shattered. I walked closer to him, hearing him mumble about wanting his alarm clock to stop making noise, he also kept telling himself to ignore it and sleep.
What was he talking about? Not a single alarm clock was ringing, the power was cut out, how could they be ringing? I remember how he had his assignment for school that he had to do, and remember that he hasn't been well for a while now. He was hallucinating. It made me sad to see him in such a state as this. I hope it passed soon and he would be able to sleep.
