BLOOD RAGE

PART TWO - II The Night After...

1.

Sakura's eyes were glazed over as she stared off into the void. She sat perched on the table perfectly still, her arms straight by her side. She was a doll. Sasori walked over to her and held out his hand. He focused his chakra hard and from his fingers shot strings that attached themselves to Sakura. One around each arm, others around her thighs and ankles. She was his now. He could manipulate her anyway he wanted.

He tried it out a few times. Making the girl stand up and then sway her arms from side to side. Then he made her twirl towards him, stopping just inches from his face. Still through all this, her eyes remained glazed over, not even blinking once. Her lips were pursed in a perfect form but breath never left her body. Sasori snaked his right arm around her slender waist. He then started to dance with her, circling around the room, pushing and then pulling her delicate body towards him. He had her the way he had always wanted her.

At school, he had dreamed of this day. It always seemed like a dream but now it was real. Sasori was graceful and gentle with the girl as they glided through air like long lost lovers spirits. He was careful not to hurt her. He held her so close and tender. He would never desert her, not like Sasuke, not like that fiend.

Sakura was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. He wanted to be together with her forever. But he knew things were not that simple now. The world had become a very dark place and nothing was certain anymore. But this was his plan, his plan to survive.

Sasori hugged Sakura, running his fingers through her soft pink hair and caressing her slowly.

"I love you, Sakura" he whispered in her ear, a tear drop falling down his cheek.

Sakura didn't reply. She just stared blankly. No emotion. No breath.

2.

It was another beautiful sunny day above Konoha Village. It was perfect weather for flying.

Deidara flew high above riding his clay bird. Ino was sitting in his lap with her arms clasped around his neck, her feet dangling over the side. Deidara readied his scope so he could get a better view of what was going down below. Konoha Village had changed. The streets were deserted. Windows smashed. Shops looted. The people were all gone now and so were the vampires. They only came out at night and so far this had been their only chance for survival.

Deidara remembered clearly how he had got himself and Ino to safety from the school. The memory was burned into his retinas. The screams, the moans, the blood - all in a flash he had broken through a window using an explosive. Then he saw a blonde haired girl on the lying crumpled, unconscious on the floor. He only had a second to react. He decided to save her. He picked her up and slung her over his shoulder and made his way out of the window on his clay bird. There were others too. He heard their screams but there was no time. The vampires came. He had to get out of there. He made his choice.

Deidara regretted leaving students in the school to almost certain death but as he looked across and gazed into Ino's blue eyes, he was at least glad he was able to save one.

"You're not such a bad guy after all." said Ino.

"You don't know me. Say that to me when you get to know me better."

"Gladly." Ino said smiling.

She was so happy that he had saved her. She was so shocked when she woke up on the clay bird and realised it was him. He always seemed so distant at school - so weird. Ino remembered too. That night when the vampires came and attacked for the first time. She remembered fighting a girl. It looked like TenTen but it wasn't her. She seemed possessed. She was strong, too strong for Ino, knocking her to the ground several times. The last thing she remembered was TenTen revealing her sharp fangs, advancing on her and then an explosion and then nothing.

Ino looked down from the bird in horror at the destruction caused to Konoha Village.

"What are we going to do now?"

"We need to find Sasori."

"He's alive?"

"Yes, he is with Sakura now."

Ino's eyes lit up. "She's alive too? Oh my god, that's so great. I can't believe they both made it out. I have to see her! What about Sasuke?"

"We're not sure about him. He's still missing. But we have to get to Sasori and warn him. I'm not sure he realises the terrible danger he's in."

"What do you mean?"

"When night falls, they come out. There is a large group of them near to his underground hideout that he keeps just east of the Village."

"Underground hideout? Are you serious?"

"Deadly serious. You will see."

Deidara then changed direction and headed for Sasori's hideout.

3.

It was night time now.

Sasori had grown a little tired of playing with his new doll. He went back to make small sculptures out of wood, chisling away until they became a perfect form. The pink haired girl was still sitting perched up on the table behind him just as she had before - still expressionless. Sasori felt a little sorry for her being there all alone. Perhaps she needed some love. He got up from his stool and walked towards her placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Don't worry, baby, everything's going to be all right."

He cupped her chin and brought her face slowly towards his, almost touching. He could already taste her sweet cherry lips, he put another hand on her hip and leaned in for his kiss.

It was in that moment, when a there was a loud crash. Sasori was startled and looked up as the door suddenly burst through. Two vampires: black hair, black capes, sharp teeth - he knew the story. They were advanced on them. Sasori instantly knew what to do. He held up his hands and used his chakra to manipulate Sakura. He turned the girl onto the vampires. She kicked the hard and then using strength that she didn't even have, picked one of them up and threw it into the other sending them both crashing to the ground.

Sasori knew he had found the perfect girl. He loved her strength as much as her beauty.

The vampires started getting to their feet. Sasori manipulated Sakura so she raised her hand. The chisel on the table then shot up and darted towards her. She caught it effortlessly. Then she charged stabbing one of the vampires in the heart. It just turned dust and vanished but Sasori wasn't finished. He waved his hands around again, twirling Sakura towards him.

He then scooped her up in his arms like she was his bride. Then with chisel in hand, Sasori ran with Sakura and they stabbed the other vampire right in the heart too. Again it simply vaporised, turning to dust.

Sasori laughed.

"That was brilliant, Sakura. But we have to get out of here. There may be more coming!"

Sasuke.

Sasuke.

The thought hit Sakura's mind and she was jolted out of her stupor. She looked around. She had no idea what was going on. She felt a pair of strong arms beneath her. Sakura thought for a moment that it was Sasuke come to rescue her but as he looked across, her heart sank. It was Sasori. Sakura screamed and kicked and struggled to get free and eventually Sasori put her down.

Sakura noticed two piles of black dust on the floor.

"What happened here?" she asked.

"It doesn't matter now. Come on, we have to get out of here now!"

Sasori grabbed Sakura's wrist and dragged her along with him as he ran out of the hideout.
