Issabelle Bubblestone was terrified of starting middle school, and Monument Junior High eased no nerves whatsoever.
When she'd taken a feild trip there in 6th grade, it looked like a maze made of tacky, orange concrete- also, it was located in the center of the ghetto. When she attended registration, she got stared at. And when she arrived at orientation, she was introduced to a whole new schedule, seven different classes, and 5 different rotations! What this means is: as soon as she could memorize the order of classes that week, her rotation would change and she'd have to remember a whole new order in an already alien school. This won't end well.
Andradite Wonderlock was infuriated about her freedom being taken away, once again, JUST BECAUSE OF HER AGE! WHY COULDN'T SHE JUST ENJOY HERSELF FOR MORE THAN TWO MONTHS, WITHOUT BEING SHACKLED DOWN AGAIN? She just wanted to write, blog, and watch Netflix.
Her new school looked like a prison, probably because it was. In fact: it was a segregation school for African Americans (not cool by the way) before the Torest Trad government was forced to make literally zero changes and started to market it off as an improved, desegragated school. The hallways were outside for goodness sakes! In the humid weather of Torest Trad, she wouldn't last a day sprint-hiking her backpack from class to class. This won't end well.
