I can't enjoy this party. Knowing that I can read whats inside their heads. I'm getting tired of every people that surrounds me, vampires or humans I don't even care.

"Chain."

I said, as she shows up fastly. I'm really amused with this butler of mine. She didn't complaint about her being my butler when she's growing up 'cause I know that she really wants to serve me when I first laid my eyes on her back then.

"What do you want Master?" She asked comfortably looking at me.

"I want to escape here right now."

"That won't do Master, Madam will get mad at me or even to you." She explained knowing that she's scared of her mother no, our mother.

I sighed. "I can't be myself here Chain. I don't want to see this kind of mess in a party. Ma just said that I will only meet up with the other Clans then I can fed up." I pleaded to her but I guess it's not working.

"You still haven't met the Clan that Madam mentioned, they were expecting you Master. Just this one then we can go." So I heard. I don't know who's the Master here. But then again, this is for Ma's sake so that I won't add another problems to her.

I don't want to have a long discussion with her again.

So I insist and obeyed what my butler says.

Chain lead me to the long hallway inside the venue of the party. Leaving the ballroom outside.

All you can hear is the echoes of our footsteps because of the huge space of the place.

As we stomp to the room that awaits me. Chain stopped walking and gestured if she will knock on the door. I sigh and said "Wait, don't open it."

"Why?" She asked.

"I suddenly felt nervous." I said with a cautious look.

She chuckled and just shrugged her shoulders then she started to knock. Then she opened the door.

When I was about to enter the room. I have this weird feeling boiling inside me. I can't explain what it is but then I saw Madam and an old man with a little girl beside him, the three of them are sitting.

Then I composed myself to beat what I am feeling right now but then again its going back. I noticed that Chain was not here anymore so it was only the four of us here.

Gulp. What's this feeling right now?

Madam stand up from her sit and approach to introduce the guest in front of me. We started tge introduction but then suddenly I am afraid to look at the little girl.

We were now sitted. I was beside Madam while in front of us was the two guest.

"What is this all about Madam?" I ask to cut out the chase so that I can go home already.

"Well, as you can see Mylady our visitor here would like to know you." Madam said.

"And what do you mean by that?" I asked.

"Leave it to me Madam, I can explain about it." The mister said.

"What is it then, Mr. Tanchingco?" I exclaimed to put some pressure to him.

I can sense him being anxious to me.

He starts with a cough then says "As you can see, I have my daughter here Jade. All I want you to do is to take care of my little baby. And that's my request." He says with a stern look.

"What?" I asked confusedly. I didn't expect this really.

"Well, I'll repeat myself. I would like you to take care of Jade."

"Cut off the chase Sir! I'm not a babysitter! I don't want to be part of this!" I screamed and stand up I'm about to stand up but Madam held my wrist.

"Don't Althea." She said looking up to me.

"Ma, I am not going to be part for this taking care for that little girl!" I said pointing out the girl.

"You see, it's just for few years Althea!"

"Years!? Years are too long for me Ma! All I know is that we have so many vampires outside there! Why don't you pick up the other ones!" I almost shouted but I know that I need to control myself.

"You are a half-breed Althea! So, we all know that you can protect the heiress! You are the only one who can control the thirst for us vampires!" Madam replied angrily.

Oh no, not with this.

"No." A short reply from mine.

"Just this once Althea." Madam pleaded.

I can see the stare of the Mister by my peripheral vision.

I didn't answer. I'll remain this silence until they will give up. But, it won't work.

"For your father, for the clan Althea." She continued.

"No! Don't put my father's name for this Ma!" I shouted losing my temper. Yeah.

"Just this once then I'll set you free!" She almost screamed.

"What? Now you're making a deal for this huh!?"

"You see, this is the only thing that I can do for you and the only thing that you will do for the clan." She explained.

I keep myself thingking from what she have said. Knowing that its a win-win situation is great but taking care of a kid will be my losing term.

I looked at the little girl named with Jade. I didn't heard anything from her with this situation I know that she's just afraid. But something's weird about her.

Why I can't read your mind lady?

I faced the old man, he looked so scared but hearing the words from his mind was enough for me. Then, I looked to Madam.

"Fine. Just this once Ma." I said while walking through the door.

"Althea! Wait!"
