Locklyn sighed as she made her way to the arcade run by Dr. Facilier. She'd promised her son they'd have a fun day together and, if Locklyn was honest, she wanted to have a day with her son where her father wasn't constantly present.
It was strange, how long had she yearned for her father to notice her? To acknowledge her? It had seemed that giving him a grandson had done just that but there were days where Locklyn wished she could go back to being invisible to her father.
Especially since most of the time it seemed like all Gaston wanted to do was be with Locklyn's son rather than be with Locklyn, but it wasn't as if he could acknowledge his grandson without admitting he'd had a daughter.
It doesn't matter, Locklyn thought. Liam deserves the chance to be with his grandfather...and as much as I hate him, Gaston deserves the chance to see the only grandchild he has access to. Gil's not exactly bringing his kids over to the Isle...and I doubt Belle and Beast and Gia would allow him the chance to see Gia's daughter. Hell, I doubt Mal would let him see the little girl either and Piper would probably run him through with a sword for even thinking he could get close to her niece.
Locklyn smiled slightly as she thought of her eldest sister. Piper had been sending her letters every week, though Locklyn had yet to open them or even write back. Even though she was glad her eldest sister hadn't completely written off her existence, Locklyn couldn't find it in her to open the letters out of fear that all they were were just diatribes directed toward her.
"Liam! Careful!" Locklyn scolded as her son ran out in front of her, pulling her out of her thoughts.
"You can't tell me what to do!" Liam called and Locklyn shook her head. Ever since Liam had turned about three, he'd been acting out. He'd be fine when he was with his father, Blade; though Locklyn wasn't going to lie, the younger Stabbington cousin could be fairly intimidating when he chose to be. Though he never chose to do so around their son.
It was only around Gaston that he used his intimidating persona, and Locklyn wasn't going to lie, the memory of Blade throwing Gaston out of her hospital room with Derek and Gil's help the day she gave birth to Liam would forever be one of her favorite memories.
Yeah in all honesty, she hadn't expected Gil to be there. Or Derek and Piper for that matter. But apparently Mal had been informed somehow when Locklyn had been admitted after her water broke and Mal passed the news onto Gil who must have told Piper and Derek just came along for the ride.
I know she's my big sister, but to this day I'm honestly surprised she came to be with me, Locklyn thought as she and Liam entered into Facilier's arcade. Not after what I did, forcing Brooke to join Fred...Freddy's gang.
She wouldn't lie, she wasn't completely on 'Team Mal' as Shayla would call it on the rare occasions Locklyn would meet up with the other former Angel turned former Castor but Locklyn would have had to be completely idiotic to deny the fact that she'd had her best life when she was part of the Rats.
I wonder what life would have been like...if I hadn't fallen under Freddy's charm, she thought as she smiled seeing Liam run over to one of the games. I likely wouldn't have my brother-in-law glaring at me like I'd stab his wife while I was delivering my son for starters.
Yeah, that had been a pleasant time though in all honesty, Locklyn couldn't exactly blame Derek for glaring at her...even if she was still shocked he'd married Piper. Locklyn had joined the Angels, had left the Rats. And Derek was one of the most loyal Rats they had, probably fourth to Henry, Harry, and Jay. That being said...she was more than a little grateful for Gil pulling Derek aside when she was about five hours into her labor.
