Alexandria nursed her tea as she listened to her sisters chatter away; her nieces and nephews happily spending time with their respective fathers visiting their family in Sherwood Forest. Alexandria wasn't going to lie, it was nice not having them underfoot. Don't get her wrong, she loved her nieces and nephews but with how she'd been feeling, she wasn't exactly in the mood to be the fun aunt who could play nonstop.
Even little Roman and Lily, who'd been born the year prior, would have been too much for Alexandria to handle. Truthfully, the only niece she could handle was the one still inside her sister Lucy who looked about ready to give birth any day now.
"How're you feeling Alex?" Kitty asked, looking at her little sister with a bit of concern on her face.
"Bit better," Alexandria said softly. "The tea helps, I won't lie."
"Ginger tea," Lucy nodded. "Ginny said Ava swears by it, it helped her a lot when she was pregnant with Catherine."
"I'll be sure to thank her the next time I see her," Alexandria said, taking another small sip of her tea. "How's she doing?"
"Ginny or Ava?" Kitty asked.
"Well both I guess," Alexandria said with a small chuckle. "I meant Ava since she had Catherine what? A year ago?"
"Two years actually," Lucy said. "Catherine's a year older than Lily remember?"
"Oh right, right," Alexandria nodded. "And Roman right?"
Kitty nodded, a smile on her lips at the mention of her youngest son. "That's right. Have I shown you the photos Chad sent me of Christopher holding Roman the last time we were over at his place?"
"No, you haven't," Alexandria said, smiling at the image.
"It's just like the photos mom and dad have of Chad holding us when we were brought home from the hospital," Kitty said, pulling out her phone to pull up the photo. It was then that Alexandria noticed a beautiful rose gold tennis bracelet on her sister's wrist.
"Oh Gods, Kat, that's beautiful," she said. "Is it new?"
Kitty flushed slightly. "Oh this? Yeah...Roland gave it to me after Roman was born."
"Can I see it?" Alexandria asked.
Kitty nodded and held out her arm so Alexandria could take a closer look, her fingers gently brushing the bracelet.
"Our brother-in-law has good taste," Lucy said, leaning over the table slightly so she could see the bracelet. "The rose gold was definitely the way to go, it matches your strawberry blonde hair...and are those diamonds on the band?"
Kitty shook her head. "Cubic zirconia. Roland actually apologized that they weren't diamonds but I told him it didn't matter because I hadn't expected anything. But apparently he read about some new trend where new fathers get their partners a present after giving birth and he wanted to make up for not getting me something after Elliot and Katie's births."
"That was sweet of him and now I'm mentally prepared for Bobby to freak out since you know Roland probably told him about this new trend," Lucy said. "I know it doesn't matter but you know I'm curious. How many carats?"
"14 carats," Alexandria said, beating Kitty to the punch.
Both of the older Charming Princesses paused and looked at their younger sister. "That's right," Kitty said slowly. "Alex, how...how did you know that?"
"I...I don't know..." Alexandria said, more than a little shocked herself at how quickly she'd been able to answer. "I'd say it was from being married to Hadie, you know since his dad's the God of Wealth and what not, but it's only been a few months since the wedding."
