Soft to the touch, yet painful like a thorn. It made no sense. Apple Jack brushed off the feeling and gave a goodbye kiss to her colt friend Caramel. "Goodbye my apple blossom." He said charmingly. "Toodleoo my caramel apple." She said back in return. She watched as the stallion trotted away. The couple had been seeing eachother exclusively for a month. She thought that he was the one. No. She knew he was the one. Time to start headin' over to Twilight's. She thought. And so she trotted on.
In Ponyville everypony was so friendly. You couldn't walk a foot without stopping to talk to somepony. She was right there. One yard from the castle when she felt a sharp pain in her forehead and crashed down. What in the hay happened?
"I'm so sorry Ms. Jack! I guess I wasn't looking where I was going. Here, let me help you up."
She opened her eyes to see a yellow stallion with blue mane. He was a unicorn, which could explain the pain in her forehead. He offered her his hoof and she gingerly took it. "I guess I might've gone off to Apple Jack land...I swear I was paying attention where I was going! I'm so sorry Mr..."
"Commet Tail. My name is Commet Tail."
"Well, it was nice bumping into you Mr. Tail. Thanks for er, helping me up."
"It was my pleasure, and uh sorry for practically stabbing your head with me horn." They laughed.
"Eh, it wasn't too bad. One thing off my bucket list!"
"You're quite the comedian Ms. Jack. I'm surprised you aren't the element of laughter. Anyways, I better be going. Sianora!"
Commet Tail walked off. Apple Jack simply shrugged and continued to walk to the castle.
"Apple Jack! You're late!" Ratiy yelled. "I'm sorry I bumped into somepony on the way."
"Let me guess. Caramel?"
"Not even close. It was Commet Tail."
Rainbowdash shot a glance at Twilight. "Ya hear that Twi? Aj bumped into your old colt friend." Twilight's face grew red. "He wasn't my...colt friend. We were just friends as far as I was concerned. We hung out every now and then and practiced magic and exchanges books but never any more. We never went on a date. Unless you call going out to lunch a 'date'. Yes, he might have had a minor crush on me and was pretty disappointed when I started seeing Flash...but we managed to remain good friends."
"I thought you told us he started avoiding you and so you just gave up on trying to be his friend and the you avoided him!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
Twilight looked down. "Is that true Twilight?" Applejack asked. Twilight nodded. "What else could I have done? He was so heart broken...I know what that's like so I decided to keep my distance."
"Why don't we start what we came here to do? Clean!" Fluttershy said. They six nodded and they began to clean the castle. But Apple Jack couldn't stop thinking about Commet Tail. No matter how hard she tried.
