The Man

I'm so scared. I can't stop thinking about the man. I decide to call Kara. "Hey, Kara." I say. "Oh hey what's up? Miss me already?" She laugh says. "I need someone to talk to, like this is serious" I tell her. "Oh, okay what's up?" She asks. "Well I got a text from some unknown number, saying hey stranger. I am freaking out because I think it might be the man." I explain to her, hoping she can help. "What man?" She asks. Oh fuck, I never told her. Now I better explain.
"When I was little, I was kidnapped by this man. When he kidnapped me he said "hey stranger"." I start tearing up. "He did, not so good things to me. I hated it there but the man said everything would be okay. I was with him for about a week until my parents and the police found us. They said he was in jail, but I think maybe he got out." I finish explaining to her. "Oh my gosh. You have friends down in South Carolina right? I'm going to try to arrange moving down there but for now call up a friend and have them stay with you." She tells me. "Okay, thanks. I'll text you later. Bye" I say hanging up.
I scroll through my contacts and reach an almost unknown name. "Daniel" I read the name out loud. Daniel, and I have been friends for a while but we haven't talked for over a year. Should I call him? I dial the number. The phone rings for a bit. "Hello" I hear him say. "Hey,Daniel its Kayla. How's it going?" "KAYYYLLLAAAA" he says. "Hey, so I need someone to come stay with me for a little bit. Are you up for it?" I ask him. "Uhm, yeah sure. Text me your address and I'll be over later." Wow that was easy. "Okay, I'll see you soon. Bye!" I say hanging up.
I text Daniel my address. I kind of regret it a little. Daniel and I haven't talked in forever. We kind of drifted from each other. Hopefully when we hang out today, we can fix our past friendship.
I get out of bed and go to the living room. I sit on the couch and turn on the tv. I try to get everything off my mind by watching tv. It works for a little bit when I watch old episodes of RuPauls Drag Race. Damn the sass up in here is real.
After watching tv for two hours. I get up and go take a shower. Showers are so relaxing, but I like baths better. I turn on the water, and let it run. I take off my clothes and get in. I let the water hit my face. I continue to take my shower and finally get out.
I realized I didn't bring any clothes so I rap my towel around myself and walk out to my room. I pick out some jean shorts, with a black crop top. After I throw my clothes on I blow dry my hair and then just let it flow. Should I dye my hair again? The pink is kind of fading? I'll call my hairstylist later.
I get a text from Daniel.
Daniel -> Kayla: I'm on my way.
Kayla -> Daniel: okay see you soon.

     I go to my kitchen realizing I haven't eaten all day. I grab a bowl and the box of Lucky Charms. Pour some cereal in the bowl, grab the milk. Then I go to my couch and eat some Lucky Charms, while watching the classic, spongebob. Wow I wish I was a kid again.
     I hear a knock at the door and get up to answer it. I open the door and see Daniel. "HEYYYYYYYYY!" He says to me. "Heyyyyy" I say back. "How's it going? Long time no see am I right?" He says. Daniel and I have been friends for so long but I haven't hung out or talked to him in over a year.
     "So, welcome to my apartment." I say showing him around. "Here's the kitchen, living room, then over here is the bathroom, and then my room, and my office." I say pointing to each room. "Nice place." He says. "So why did you call me to come over?" Daniel asks. "I know it wasn't because you want me here" he adds. "I think a person from my childhood found me" I say showing him the text.
