Chapter 12
Calimont
“Excuse me ma’am,” I announced as I made my way over to the check-in desk.
“Yes, sir? Would you like a room?” She was a short and stubby brunette with large black glasses, and small fingers that typed away at the keyboard as she spoke.
“Please.” I smiled courteously. She handed me a key and pointed towards the ceiling.
“Your room number is 406, please enjoy your stay at the Beachside Hotel.”
“Thank you.” I saw her give Haven a strange look because of the way he limped. I don’t think Haven should have been walking because of the condition he was in, but he insisted so as to not draw attention to himself. Although, I’m not sure him limping in front of everyone was any better.
We got in the elevator and I pushed the fourth floor button.
“I’m carrying you when we reach our floor.”
“No. I don’t want anyone to get suspicious.”
“No one will.”
“Oh, and how do you know if there will be anyone on this floor?” He looked at me skeptically.
“I never said anything about people now did I?”
“But... huh?” The doors to the elevator opened and I grabbed Haven. We were at our door in the next three seconds, and while gently setting him down, I put the key card into it’s slot and slipped inside the room with Haven following behind me.
“How did you... but we... did you...”
“Use my Haya-sa to get us to the room faster? Yes, yes I did.”
“Haya-sa?” He gave me a funny look.
“On Earth it means speed in Japanese.”
“Umm... We really need to stop stealing so many words from different planets. I’m glad I finally know how you get around so quickly though” He exclaimed while rubbing the back of his head.
“Yes... yes you do, and I’m glad your glad.” I laughed but saw Haven’s body start to collapse. I caught him before he fell and carried him to the bed. “You also need to rest so stay here and sleep.”
“Where are you going?”
“Well right now I’m headed to the bathroom to get a rag and hot water.” I started for the bathroom.
“You’re not going to give me a bath are you?” I could tell there was worry in his voice.
“No, no it just makes it easier to get the bandages off, and to go over any cuts I might have missed.”
“Like my hands? They’re still burning.”
“Yes.”
“Oh, okay... that’s okay then.”
I came back into the room and looked over his body. “Ummm... Haven?”
“Yeah?” He looked into my eyes then.
“Don’t take this the wrong way but... I’m going to need you to undress.” I felt uncomfortable asking the question.
“Okay.” He didn’t give me a funny look, which was odd. I understood why though. He only stripped down to his boxers and stopped.
“Umm... Haven?”
“Yeah?” He looked at me and I pointed my eyes towards his boxers. “Wait... you don’t mean...”
