She left the coffee shop on the closing hour. The sky was crying that cold April night. She was hurrying down the streets of London to her 'bubble'. Her bubble was her favorite spot in a library close to her apartment. It was the place she could zone out and just focus on her work. Her baby blue raincoat protected her from the rain.
She quite liked the rain though, it was something calming and fascinating about it. Most people despises the rain, she loves it. It was an excuse for her to stay inside to read books, paint and cuddle with her siamese cat, Bambi. She did not mind it at all.
It was just a five minute walk form the coffee shop to the library. It dropped water from the tips of her chocolate brown hair and her baby blue raincoat. Her wet shoes squeaked when she walked across the dry floor to her bubble. She hoped she did not disturb the others peace in their bubble.
Her spot was a table next to a window. The window was a good source of inspiration. She observed people a lot, she finds it so fascinating how people can be so different. When it rains she watches the raindrops race down the glass. They had this simple beauty and they remind her of her childhood. When she always used to root for that one drop to win the race.
She placed all her books and her computer at the table. She studies art and literature on a university, and the library has all the information she needs. She could spend hours in her 'bubble' reading poems.
The sun had just set and lights lit up the city. Milo could see her reflection in the dark window. Her hair was a hot mess. The dark bags under her forest green eyes told her that she had not gotten any sleep for a while. The past few nights, she have not managed to get any sleep. Something bothers her. She is alone.
Yet she lives in a city full with people and she feels alone. She has no one to fill that empty space with since she got here. She misses her family back home. She flue across the world to live in the city of lights. She just wants one friend. A friend she can share her deepest secrets with. A friend she can be silly with and talk about random things that no one gives a crap about.
She just wants to fill that space.
She was so deep in her bubble that she did not notice the pair of green irises glued at her profile. His wet brown mop of locks was put up in a bun to stay out of the way.
He had come to the library to escape the rain, he did not like being cold and wet.He despised the rain, he found it very ironic because he lives in London.
He sat down in a sofa trying to read a book but something else caught his attention. Just her reflection in the window made him speechless. This girl fascinated him, with both her beauty and behavior. What was going on in that head. She seamed so deep in thought. He thought it was so cute when she crinkled her nose and bit her lip when she was thinking hard about something.
He pretended to read to book in case she would notice he was taking too long glances at her. But she did not look in his direction, not once. She was too caught up in her thoughts to notice the curious boy across the room. Outside it was still raining, she was still caught up in her bubble and he was still caught up about the thought of her.
He wanted to get closer but he did not know how without to get caught.
He wanted to know more about this mystery girl, who was she? He got so caught up he did not notice that he knocked a several books down from the table. The thud was loud, well not loud, but library loud. He received a couple of angry stares. He mumbled a sorry, and mentally slapped himself for being clumsy.
He picked up the books from
the floor. When he looked up from the floor, his eyes met another pair of eyes. He had broke through her bubble. She could see that he was slightly embarrassed, she thought it was cute. She giggled a little, she covered her mouth so he would not notice. She gave him a warm smile before she turned back to continue with her studies. Her glance and smile at him made him even more interested in her. She noticed him.
The rain had stopped, the girl and boy was still in the library. He wanted to get closer to her, but he did not know how without her noticing him. He did not want to seam like a creep. He just wanted to see this mystery girl up close, before making a move.
She started packing her things up, she was done and were now headed home. She had not put so much thought in the boy across the room. She thought he was ridiculously handsome, but she never put much effort in talking to boys. She mostly stayed focused on herself, that is always how it has been.
The girl had left a book on the table. It said poems on the front. He picked up the book, he flickered through the pages. It was doddle and notes on some of the page. The book most belong to her. He flipped to the first page and it said Milo. It most be the girls name. He read some of the poems in the book and he actually thought they were good.
Mostly poetry were cheesy or just something people pretend to like because the want to be hipster. But this, was relatable and genius. He thought what he would do with the book. He ran down the stairs to the librarian.
"A girl i think is named Milo, forgot this book upstairs." He hold out the book so she could see. She smiled a warm smile.
"Milo is here everyday, mornings and nights. The same spot everyday. I can take it if you want." He just shakes his head and thanks her. He had another idea in mind. He went back up to her spot. He rips out piece of paper of his notepad and picks up a pencil.
He writes a note for her and puts it between two pages. Between two poems he was fond of. He hoped she would see it in morning. His plan was to be here the next morning.
The boy could not sleep that night, it was something about that girl. He wanted to find out more about her.
