I sat thinking about Laura. How she smiled. I looked down at Autumn she was sleeping. I missed Laura.
Oh, Laura, I wish you were here. Things are crazy. Our daughter asks me about you. I love you. I say looking at the picture of her.
Daddy. Autumn said.
I hugged her.
Take a piece of my heart and make all your own. I sing the Shawn Mendes song to her.
I pick her up.
What you doing daddy? She says looking at me.
Do you wanna build a snowman? I ask.
Duh! Autumn says.
So we go outside and play while everyone one is sleeping.
Your nose is red daddy. Autumn says.
So is yours. I say.
We go back inside because we're cold.
What were you two doing? Mom asked.
Played in the snow. I said.
Okay. She said.
