Hello! I am back after like 5 years oops. Well I am going to try and finish this or at least update it. I'm sure no one will actually see this but I am going to give it my best shot :)
Thomas POV
I grabbed her as fast as I could. I knelt down and held her head up. "Help! Please someone help!" I screamed tears starting to fill my eyes. Minho was the first to get to me. He helped me carry her to our tent, he set her down as a medjack was on the way. Jorge came busting through. He was freaking out, he was like a father to her, and she was a daughter to him. I just sat outside letting warm tears fall down my cheeks. I don't know what happened, I don't know why this happened. A medjack from group B came in, her name I'm not sure. She kicked everyone out of the tent as she worked.
Minho came and sat with me, "dude, you okay?" he asked.
"I hoped I would be, but I'm not. I feel like everything I love dissapears" I say feeling my throat tighten.
"She is going to be fine, whatever Aris did, that medjack can undo" he says trying to sound hopeful.
"But what if they can't? Then its my fault!" I yell trying not to cause a scene.
"Thomas, nothing is your fault. You should sleep, the medjack won't be done for a while. And you look like you need some sleep" Minho says patting my back. I nod and Minho let's me sleep in his bed. I fight the anxiety and let sleep consume me.

I wake up to stare at nothing but the dim ceiling of the tent. I feel a second of peace, and then all the memories flood back. Instead of freaking out, I slowly sit up and place my head in my hands. I know there is nothing I can do, I am completely helpless. I stand slowly and walk out to see the medjack tent where Brenda would be. I barely make it two steps before Minho stops me.
"Thomas, you're up! I have good news for ya" he says with a smile. "Brenda is fine, she just got bruised really bad and got a small rash. The medjacks applied some mixture and she is getting some rest. I can take you to see her".
I just nod because I am so overwhelmed and tired from all this. Will there ever come a time in my life when I won't have to worry? I highly doubt that.
Minho leads the way to a tent where Brenda has been placed. She is sitting up right with soup in hand. She looks happy, honestly. I see her eyes meet mine and she smiles right away.
"Thomas! I am so sorry that I scared you, but I swear I am fine. These medjacks really are some geniuses"
I couldn't help but just hug her and hold on to the only person that gives me hope. Brenda is my hope and I really don't know what I would do without her. I pull away and sit on the edge of her bed. We talked for what felt like hours, just telling stories and cracking jokes. That really is what our lives have come to; after facing death we share stories and laughs to try and be normal. I am not sure where this life will take us, but I know Brenda will be there with me the entire time.

1 year later
Brenda POV
It has been an entire year since Aris attacked me; well I guess attack isn't the right word for it since he didn't mean to attack me persay.... I have just come to terms that it is a gray area in my life. The group has built homes and have began growing crops, we actually function as a village. It has been a ton of work but it wouldn't have been possible if Thomas wasn't by my side the entire time. We haven't actually gotten together due to all the work we have been doing so we kind of have just stayed friends that hold hands sometimes and share secrets. I was content with that for a while, but I'm waiting for Thomas and I to be more. We were so close before my attack, and things kind of changed after that. Part of me believes that Thomas does love me, but he values our bond so much that he doesn't want a romantic relationship to ruin that. I get it, I really do, but now that we are all in a good place I am just waiting for him to take the next step. Last week I tried to kiss him and he dodged me. I know I shouldn't have, but I did and I can't take it back. He played it off that he needed to go to bed and left immediately. He walked away just in time to miss the tears rolling down my face. We never talked about it.
