Dusk fell upon the world of Ruxomar.  As Ianite sat on the roof of the tower and watched the kingdom, a sad emptiness filled her.  Her city was deserted; her son had disowned her; her love had betrayed her.  Balance was all she had left, and it seemed as though soon balance would be lost and chaos would reign.

"My Lady?" a soft voice called behind her.

A small, nostalgic smile graced her face as she answered her champion.

"Just lost in thought Sparklez.  Come join me.  You promised more to the story, didn't you?"

Footsteps on the smooth stone of the roof made their way over to her before a warm, muscular body sat next to her.

"Well M'Lady, I suppose we'll continue with the fourth hero then..."

Ianite was bound and blinded in her brother's realm.  With every tipping of the scales she felt a sharp pain shoot through her as they swung ever so slightly even more in Dianite's favor.  Mianite was powerless to stop him and Ianite too weak to break free.  But she was not too weak to send another, to send one strong enough restore balance and deal justice to those who deserved it.

In her sleep she had seen a boy.  He understood the true meaning of balance.  It was not always peaceful.  Justice was not always forgiveness.  It was also revenge.  It was not always negotiation.  It was sometimes punishment.

With her last tendril of strength she reached for her brother's mind, and asked for a single wish.  She wanted a follower.  Through her new champion's eyes she saw as he fought for his home and life.  As he won, but paid a terrible price.  As he fell, down, down,  down alongside his home tree and into a river.  She closed her eyes and guided him out to the ocean, and gently floated his body to the island.

It was only a few minutes later, that words were spoken to him.

"Welcome your face to the world of Mianite!"

When it became time to choose, he declared himself to be neither Mianite nor Dianite.  Instead, he was on his own team, the team that held the balance between the two.  He was an Ianitee.

In time, he began to connect with his goddess.  She would speak to him in his dreams, and send him gifts through her brother.  But her champion felt angry.  She should not be weak.  If there was no one else to follow and strengthen her then he decided to help her himself.  After seeing the temples constructed for the two male gods he saw the injustice being done to his goddess.  They mocked him for following a nonexistent goddess, for creating one who could not possibly exist

He proved them wrong.  With a monument more symbolic than any temple could have been, he established himself as true champion of balance.  As the island awoke, they found themselves facing the scales of justice, finally in balance, and tipping in no one's favor.

As her champion continued to feed her strength and sacrifices in the name of justice she rewarded him with gifts to help him carry out his duty.  And one day, when she was strong enough, she appeared to him in spirit form.

"Finally!" she cried.  "I have been able to join you.  I am unable to appear to you because I am too weak.  But I have been watching, watching very closely.  Dianite has drained me too much.  I have put a gift in this land but I cannot remember where I left it.  I need you to find it.  It will help you until the next purge.  I cannot protect it from the other people of this land if they find it first.  It was above the clouds, close to the starting island.  It was close to a monumental head.  I must leave you, but I will be back soon.  Please find the Sugar of Ianite."
