Since this fanfiction features Indigenous characters, I wanted to share something important.
In real life, Indigenous women and girls go missing or are murdered at heartbreaking rates in the U.S. and Canada. So many of these cases don't get the attention or justice they deserve. This crisis is known as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW).
When I first wrote this story, I was really young and had no real understanding of what Indigenous communities face. Now that I'm older, I believe awareness matters, and even a small mention can help.
