This was the last thing i ever thought would happen to me. The police were all around. Most of then had their black 9 millimeter, 45 caliber pistols pointed at me.
Normally this would freak me out -i mean, it would freak you out too-. But in this case i did not even flinch. I stood there like a tree, not moving, not even blinking and most of all as angry as ever. The demon was still standing right in front of me with that smile across his face. It was as though he had enjoyed killing bella. That smile made my blood boil.
"Mr Davies... put your hands where i can see them." One of the officers said. But his words fell on deaf ears. All my attention and senses were fixated on him, the demon right in front of me.
"Mr Davies! I repeat...."
"Wait... Lower your weapon. Let me handle this." I heard a female voice interupt. From the voice you could tell a lot. For instance, i knew that she had handled other countless cases and the voice sounded....... i don't really know how to explain how it sounded, all i know was that she was to be trusted.
"No! What the hell are you doing here? This is a homicide! You're not in the homicide department. Go back to your little hobby of chasing ghosts." The other male voice said. He sounded stubborn and impulsive.
"Just let me handle him. If its not my case i'll leave."
"Damn you and your persuation skills. Okay what the hell are you waiting for???"
"Lower your weapons!"
All this was being said as i stood there. They talked about it as if i was not there. But there is nothing i would have done about it.
The female 'ghost chaser' started to make her way towards me. I could hear her footsteps getting closer and closer. Then she started to talk.
"Davies... I know you are probably afraid right now."
I know right... That was the understatement of the year. Afraid couldn't even get close to what i was feeling. Even i wasnt sure what i was feeling. My emotions were all over, mixed up and confused.
"But you can trust me Davies. I am a friend." She said this in effort to make me talk or at least move or turn around to look at her. But my eyes and the dark eyes of the demon were still locked and as long as they were i couldnt move. I wanted move. Actually i wanted to run, i really did, but looking into those dark eyes kinda took my ability to move any part of my body.
Then i felt a touch on my shoulder. She had reached where i was and was trying to comfort me. In a moment, i was able to blink. As if her touch had freed me from the hold of the demons eyes where i was being held captive. Then he stopped smilling and smirked.
"Go ahead... Tell them. See if they believe you. Go on." This was the first time he had actually spoken a word to me. His voice was terrifying. It sounded like a million lost souls talking together in unison. And the echo that came with it. It terrified me even more.
"I'm agent Eva Mondoe. Talk to me or the guy with the 9 inche 45 caliber gun will take you in and that i promise will not be fun."
" Why will you let him take me in?" I shouted. "Cant you see him??? I mean he is standing right there. Hiding in plain sight." I was really agitated. They had all sorrounded me with their guns out as if i was armed, let alone killing Bella.
"He? Who?" She asked. She did not sound surprised at all. I was standing behind Bella and i was pointing towards a small gate in their back yard. To my eyes, there was a person who had just killed my girlfriend but to her there was just a small gate.
"What the hell is your use then? If you come claiming to dispense justice but you harass the victim here. There is the real killer. Just let him walk." I said that stretching my arm and pointing at him. I turned to look at her with my face showing anger.
