Melody's house - Kensington, London - Around 6pm

Melody had returned just five minutes before from her Something Special cake shop and she scrambled into the house, dropping her bag down and made her way to her room.

"Honey!" Alex switched off the television and groaned as he made his way into their room, creeping behind Melody as she began to straighten her dress in the mirror. "Hey..." Alex reached his arms over her baby bump and rested his hand on her shoulder, attempting to comfort her. "You all right?" Melody drooped her head, Alex rubbing her baby bump slowly. She winced, Alex's eyes widening. "Oh, I felt that one too! I guess it knows when it's daddy is here, 'eh?" Melody slightly smiled, Alex frowning. "Look, I am sorry... okay. There I said it." She pushed down Alex's hands and twirled around to face him.

"You're sorry, that's good to hear. You finally apologies and you think I forgive you?"

"Yes, yes... I do." Alex moved his hand towards Melody's arm. "Melody, I thought we talked about this-" Melody smacked down Alex's hand, crying out in pain. She moved towards the bed, her hand squeezing the sheets tightly. "Melody! Honey what is it? Is it the baby?!" Alex tried to help her but Melody refused him, pushing him away.

"I'm..." Melody began to pant heavily. "I'm fine..." Alex edged closer towards his fiancee.

"Please, let me help-"

"I said I am okay!" Alex frowned, putting his hands around his hips as Melody caught her balance. He looked at clothes, but this time questioning her with suspicion.

"Where are you going?"

"Hmm?"

"You wouldn't be dressed up like that with me." Melody burst into laughter.

"Like I ever would!" Melody rubbed the smile off her face, walking up to her dressing table. "No, I am going for a dinner."

"Where?" Alex folded his arms tightly, waiting for an explanation that wouldn't mean the end of his engagement.

"To Benedict's. And no, I am not staying here."

"Melody..." He growled. "I..." He paused for a moment, thinking of the correct words to say to his nearly five month pregnant wife, who actually hated him at the moment. "...Why don't I come w-w-with you?" Melody snorted.

"Really?" Alex moved closer to Melody, holding onto her hands and rubbing them, caressing them.

"Yes..." She glanced at his hands then at his face. Thinking about it for a moment, she finally spoke.

"Fine... But... no hatred to him okay?"

"Okay..." He crossed his fingers behind his back, where Melody could not see. "I promise." Grabbing hold of her hands tightly, he dragged her back to the mirror. "You are my first priority tonight." He said, smiling at Melody. He was smiling because of what he would do later.

Benedict's house - Shepard's Bush, London - After 6pm

Benedict was busy getting himself ready, as well as the stress of making a full blown dinner to Melody's appreciation. He wanted everything to be perfect. Even Wanda and Timothy left the building to avoid any more stress break him.

Karen walked into his room, pecking him lightly on the cheek as Benedict buttoned up his suit jacket.

"How do I look?" He asked, hoping for an answer which would make his confidence levels rise. Karen paused to take a good look at him, giving a truthful answer to her boyfriend.

"... I don't know..." Benedict frowned. "... You look good. Too good." Karen trailed her fingers across the bed, Benedict still straightening himself in the mirror. He kept glancing at her because she knew what sort of conversation she was going to bring up. "You're looking good... for her... aren't you?" Benedict sighed, turning around.

"Please... Karen. Don't say that."

"It's true though, isn't it?" He bit his lip and licked his lips, walking over to a rather 'down in the dumps' Karen.

"Listen..." He took a deep breath, holding onto Karen's hand. "... Melody is my best friend from the past. I like her from then... But..." Benedict's voice shook, but he had to say the next sentence to reassure Karen that nothing would happen between them. "... I like you right now. You are now part of me. So please... stop." Karen gave Benedict a blank face, probably because of the shock, but also the excitement. Her happiness slowly revealed as she giggled and squealed at Benedict, nearly snogging his face off.

"Thank you! I thought you chose that little son of a..." Benedict lifted up a eyebrow, not amused. "...Sorry..." Karen began to fiddle with her finger, desperately waiting for that one important single ring that would break the embarrassment. And what happened? The bell finally rang. "Oh! They're here!" Karen legged it out of the room, Benedict shaking his head and patting his hair, before making his way to the doorway.

"Hi!" Alex pecked Karen on both of her cheeks, Benedict slipping off Melody's coat. "I'm Alex, Melody's fiancee."

"... Oh right. Nice to meet you. I guess you all know Benedict." Alex tensed his cheekbones, remembering his promise to Melody.

"Oh, this guy? Yes... I do... Hey Benedict." Benedict smiled, draping Melody's coat over his arm.

"Hello." Benedict smiled and walked up to Melody, kissing her on either side of her cheek. Alex wasn't happy, but he had to make his love happy. "And, this is Karen. Mels, you've already met her." Melody literally carved a smile into her face as she did hate her, but she couldn't be a backstabber and ruin Benedict's relationship.

"Yes, I have! Hello." Melody and Karen both smiled at each other. "Right shall we all go in, I am starving!"

"Yes, yes. Mels, Alex, Karen why don't you all head in. I'll just tidy up..." Melody smiled at Benedict, Karen grabbing her arm and yanking her into the dining room. Alex however, stood next to Benedict, just glaring at him.

"You know, you really had a nerve to invite Melody and me." Benedict chuckled under his breath, turning around to Alex.

"You also had the nerve to actually come with her." Alex smiled.

"Yes well... I am her fiancee. You are her puny little friend."

"If you ever... hurt her again-"

"Oh, she told you huh? Well... I can. I am going to be her husband soon." Benedict moved closer towards Alex, angered by his current position and the way he spoke about marriage.

"I will not allow it. You see, being her friend is an advantage." He smiled at him, Alex frowning at him. "I better not leave those ladies starving..." Benedict dusted his jacket and walked into the kitchen, Alex growling behind him.

Oh, how he really wanted to end him. But, I guess that is how jealousy works, right?
