A huge castle stood solitary at the edge of a high cliff. Sea waves caressed the rocks beneath the surface. The sky was accentuated with the light of the moon. An atmosphere of eeriness enveloped the castle.
The castle belonged to a race of nobles. They live away from civilization, not wanting to mingle with the general populace. They live in solace by themselves and with the company of their kin. Like vampires, it is believed that they have eternal life. But nothing could be held for certain. Since not one soul could observe them with proximity.
Inside the castle, hurried steps and hushed voices could be heard. Something seriously big is going on.
In one of the halls, a tall man was running hurriedly towards a room located at one of the castle's towers. He stopped in front of the room. He knocked on the door and went in, not waiting for a response.
"Rika, are you sure about your decision?", the man asked as soon as he was inside.
The room he went in was luxurious; first class furniture, decor and all. Inside the room, a girl with long light-blue hair stood with her back facing the man. She was looking outside the window, gazing at the countless stars glittering from the skies above.
She opened her mouth to say something but decided not to.
"You won't regret this, will you?", he added.
"Yes, I won't.", she immediately replied. Her voice was firm and tender.
The man let out a heavy sigh, sat down a chair from a corner and asked, "Is there any way for you to change your mind?"
"I'm afraid there's none. This is what I wanted.", was her reply.
She turned around and faced him. Her crystal blue eyes narrowed when she said in continuance, "You won't dare stop me, right?"
"No."
She was satisfied from his answer.
They stared at each other for a brief moment. And after that, the man decided not to probe further. He merely brushed his blonde bangs aside and said, "When are you going?"
She walked across her room and opened her closet.
"The sooner, the better.", she answered while rummaging her cabinet.
"Are you going to bring servants with you?"
She glanced at him and instantly replied, "There's no need for that."
The man seems not to believe her. She crossed her arms and exclaimed with an annoyed look, "You know I could handle it."
The man let out an amused chuckle and added, "Guards?"
"No need."
When she found what she was looking for, she went out her room. The man followed, carrying her suitcase. They silently walked along the corridors. Both didn't mind the prying eyes that trailed them.
The moment when they were facing the castle's entrance, the girl got her suitcase from him.
"Good luck out there. I'll come visit you... if I'm allowed to.", the man told her with a wink and a smile, showing his dimple.
"Don't worry. I'll survive.", was all she said.
He opened the huge oak door for her. She slipped in and went out. He bid her goodbye as he closed the door in front of her.
