The sun was up, sending its beautiful rays across the blue sky lighting up the palace's corners.
Standing a few feet away from the huge closed gate.
"Shall we sneak in or what?"
Hawk found himself asking.
Aylin smiled slightly replying,
"No, we go through that gate"
While leading them towards it, once they were close enough the guards set the gate open.
"His majesty is waiting for you"
Theon said, while asking a guard to show them their way inside.
Hawk's light green eyes sparkled while he could not believe that he was finally able to walk in past that gate after more than ten years.
Being welcomed in such a way meant so much to all of them but none of them felt as joyful as Hawk who once referred to that palace as home.
The insides of the palace, walls and ceiling have always had a glowy gold to them but that morning it looked sparkly and warm.
The whole atmosphere felt lighter.
The second prince walking by Elmer's side heading towards the side that got burned, followed by a few guards.
"Do they come everywhere with me?"
Elmer asked whispering.
"You will get used to it"
Louis replied.
He was unable to smile nor fake it.
"Ivor's body will be sent out today to his village, I did say Ezra is to lead this mission but I wish you could go with him too"
Elmer's words caught Louis off guard, he stopped walking for a good moment before he followed up.
"I can not leave you alone, We have so many responsibilities, I must stay"
Louis then replied.
"That was not a request, it was an order"
Elmer looked back smiling as he said.
"What? you can't order me around yet, you're not even official"
Louis replied complaining.
Elmer laughed lightly replying,
"You worry too much, you will be gone for one or two days, what could happen?"
He tried to ease it down but he did not need to do any convincing since Louis did want to go from the very start, so that he could properly attend Ivor's funeral.
"Thank you"
Louis said as they kept walking until reaching their destination.
Leo's study was suddenly set on fire and the investigation was still open, not knowing if it was an accident or if someone caused it nor why they did it.
Nothing was left but ruins.
The two walked inside, checking to see if there was anything useful.
"We found these"
A guard said while handing Elmer a sword and red piece of cloth.
Louis was standing by the open window, no trace of it's wood left just a hole in a wall.
"Louis"
Elmer called which made the prince turn around to see a very familiar sword in between Elmer's hands.
