I Need You

The party ended about an hour ago, and I'm still a little overwhelmed. Finn is running around the house with Peeta chasing him, and I'm sitting sipping coffee and chatting with Annie.

"So, Is there going to be a baby Katniss or Peeta soon?" Annie asks. I sigh "I don't know. Peeta and I have been trying for two and a half months. It's not working."

"Oh, well maybe it will happen soon. You never know." I just stare at her. "Maybe," I say slowly. "Well, it's about Finn's bedtime. Actually it was his bedtime two hours ago. I'll be right back." She walks over to Peeta and Finn an drags him (Finn) upstairs.

Peeta sighs and sits down next to me. I rest my head on his shoulder. He leans over and kisses my temple.

"You really like Finn, don't you?" I ask.
He kisses my temple again. "I do like him. But I like all children. But I understand if you can't have them."

I frown a little. Peeta gives me everything. And I can't give him the one thing he wants. "I'm sorry Peeta," I say, with tears threatening to spill. "For what? Katniss, you have absolutely nothing to be sorry for." My tears end up falling and I bury my face in his shirt. He rubs my back and murmurs things in my ear, but I can't understand anything over my sobs. I eventually drift off, in the warmth of my husband's arms.

I wake up in my bed, with Peeta's arms still protectively wrapped around me. I suddenly get the urge to throw up. I wiggle out of Peeta's grasp and run to the bathroom. I get there just in time and to let it out. I rinse my mouth and walk back to the bed.

When I walk in I see Peeta proped up on his elbows. "What's wrong? are you Okay?" Peeta asks. "I'm fine now, I probably just have a stomach bug. You know, you worry too much!" He smiles a little. "Because I love you."

I crawl back into Peeta's arms and listen to Annie trying to keep Finn quiet. I chuckle.

"Maybe we should go down." I suggest. Peeta groans. "But I'm comfy right here!" He complains. "But I don't want Annie to keep Finn quiet for no reason." I say. "You do what you want, but I'm going down." "Finnnneeee, I'll get up." He mumbles. "But only because you are."

I smile. "I knew that would work!" Peeta looks at me with a fake angry face.

I laugh and walk into the closet and throw on a white shirt and some jeans. Peeta's taking a shower so I just run downstairs.

"Oh, I'm really sorry, did Finn wake you up?" Annie asks worriedly.
"Oh, no we could barely hear him!"

"That's good. Where's Peeta?"

"Upstairs."

I hear the phone ringing, so I excuse myself and answer it.

(Katniss)
"Hello?"

(Johanna)
"Katniss! It's Johanna!"

(Katniss)
"Oh, hi Johanna! What's up?"

(Johanna)
"I have some really exciting news!"

(Katniss)
"What? Tell me!"

(Johanna)
"I'm pregnant!"
