"Blessed to Bloom"

(Olivia's POV)

We walked back to our home in silence. The thought of Lewis being the babies dad made my stomach turn.

I could hear his voice in my head.

"Bad luck Olivia, you've gone from bringing up a crack addicts son to having twins to a rapist. Smart move...Sargent"

I keeled over the kerb throwing up the entire contents of my stomach. The sound of his voice sent a shiver down my spine!

"Babe are you alright. Here sit down on this bench and drink some water"

Elliot is such a gentleman at times but imagine how he would feel if he opened the envelope to reveal he wasn't the father?

I let out a deep sigh and nod "I just ate more than I should have. I guess the babies didn't like the pickles after all." I stand up and look around me "Elliot can I ask you something?"

"Of course babe. You can ask me anything you like"

I look up at him and smile "do you like pickles?"

(Elliot's POV)

Do I like pickles?

I laugh and take her hand continuing to walk along the cobbled streets.

"You know I can honestly say that I have never really tried them to know. You know me liv. I stick to what I know"

I study her face for something. Anything. Just for an indication of what to do but all I can see that behind that fake smile is a distressed terrified Olivia Benson.

"Well I assure you that when our kids grow up they will make sure that you have tried pickles"

She did it again.

Referred to me as their daddy...

Don't get me wrong I am hoping and praying that the asshole who hurt my Liv is 100% not the father of these kids.

They don't deserved a father who rapes women. Violates them into feeling like they are useless and weak. No woman should ever have to feel like that!

I love my job...we love our jobs and none of us ever knew what it felt like to be in that position where a loved one became the victim we once protected.

My job now is make sure Liv feels supported by her fiancé. To make sure I give her a shoulder to cry on, a happy family and most of all accept that I may not be the father of these kids.

"Now it's my turn to ask you something"

I watch her eyes open wider.

I see a look of fear rush through her face.

"Do you like pickles more than coffee?"

I raise an eyebrow as she sighs with relief.

Now is not the time to throw a load of questions about Lewis and the babies at her. A couple hours ago I asked her to marry me. To become Mrs Olivia Benson-Stabler. Now? Now I'm walking hand in hand with my fiancé as the sunsets in front of us.

To me. Tonight has been a night to remember.

(Olivia's POV)

He's being a dork now. The same dork I fell madly in love with 12 years ago.

Yes. 12 whole years since I met my fiancé. Many of times I have told myself and the squad that nothing would ever happen between us. How wrong was I?

I felt my phone buzz in my pocket.

"Coffee mr stabler. I prefer coffee to pickles. I don't think a pickle has ever saved me from a 5am start or a 1am finish"

I laugh nervously and scroll down my messages.

"Alex says congrats on popping the question. She's going to come visit tomorrow if that's okay. Oh and don says it's about time. He's been waiting over a decade for you to confess your true feelings"

Our job isn't just a job. It's a family. One who supports each other through the good and the bad.

This will get better.

I'm hoping...
