"Yawwwn, I'm so tired." You said plopping onto your dorm room's bunk bed. Since you moved here mid semester you lucked out not having to live with anyone else. Your day was nice; you met many students who helped you find your ways through the academy. For some reason when Shiemi was talking about her exorcist cram school it really peaked you interest, surprisingly enough you got into the school with no problem. Demonology and exorcisms have always fascinated you. The kids at the cram school where all quite the characters. One boy your age Yukio was the so called the teacher, crazy. His twin brother named Rin was always fumbling on his words but he was really friendly it made you smile in a way. You took a shower before bed and did your hair now so you wouldn't have to worry about it on your first morning of classes.
Hours later you figured that there was no way you were going to sleep with your mind racing over such silly things; you figured it was probably nerves from tomorrow being your first day of classes. So you slid out of your bed, brushed your long (h/c) hair and put on your (color) jacket and boots. You've decided to take a walk across the campus to clear your mind and maybe actually get a ground on where everything is.
It was such a beautiful night the moon was shining bright enough so you could see everything and the campus looked so different at night with everyone gone. You skipped around the pavement exploring all of these different buildings through the windows. It was neat you almost felt like a detective. For about an hour you just walked, you realized how long you have been out and you still weren't done seeing everything. You headed back through a little alley way which made you pretty scared because there was no light and you couldn't see anything. This alley stretched on for twenty minutes and you got really scared and felt completely lost not knowing where anything was or if you would ever find your way back again. You checked your phone and apparently there was no cell service or data at night, probably so students won't stay up late on their devices. You kept running down the alley hoping you would see the moonlight eventually.
"Hello my dear." A low voice taunted behind you.
Paralyzed with fear you thought it was a criminal but you couldn't see so you screamed and turned around bumping into someone you were about to cry, shaking. He caught you giving you a hug "Hey it's just me." Said the man trying to calm you down. "S-sir Faust?" He chuckled, "Yes, now what are you doing out here so late? You know its school policy to not be out after dark." You felt really embarrassed. "Oh, sorry I didn't. You see I was just taking a walk and I got lost and I have no idea how to get back." He took your arm and started walking with you guiding you the opposite way you came, "No worries I'll walk with you." You still felt really embarrassed but it was relieving that you had someone to help you find your way. "So, why are you out here so late?" You asked wondering, it seemed pretty suspicious. "Hahaha, well if you haven't realized I'm a demon my child. I'm sort of nocturnal." "What? You're a demon? How, wait what?" This scared you, weren't demons supposed to be creatures trying to kill you or eat your soul? Not the chairman of an academy for certain. "Well not all are but I tend to sleep for only about an hour- oh you didn't realize?" You finally got out of the dark alley way and he sat down with you on a bench. "Sorry allow me to introduce myself; I'm second in Gehenna's hierarchy. The king of time, Sameal." He gave you a kind smile and shook your hand. "You can just call me Mephisto, Johann Faust is my alias." You shook his hand and returning the smile. "(First name)." It felt funny as you only had a first and last name after him telling you all of his titles. "But, why are you telling me this isn't that sort of top secret information?" He laughed slightly "Well, I heard you are in the Exorcist Cram School tomorrow and I'd like to know my students." He reached in his pockets "Oh and that reminds me here is your key for the cram school. Don't lose it~" He passed you a beautiful little gold key. "So, what brings you here to our school?" Your heart sank, burying your hands in your thighs and looking down. "I..." "What's wrong you can tell me." "Well, my parents died when I was young and I had to live with my foster parents." Tears started to flood your eyes, you don't know why you were telling him so much but it was nice talk to someone. "They were so mean to me, my foster dad hit me and she told me I was worthless. I just wanted to get away- I had no money so I studied really hard in hopes of a scholarship. But it's scary now being on my own." When you looked up he was kneeling in front of you, he brushed your tears away with a finger and looked in your eyes. "Well, they were fools." Your eyes burned and you were really tired, no one had ever been nice to you before. You wrapped your arms around him and buried your face in his neck. "You can stay here for as long as you want, it's on me miss (L/n)." He whispered. The both of you sat on the bench together and talked for an hour about things in your life. After a while you fell asleep on his shoulder, it was nice to have someone there for you. He laughed remembering that you probably tired for a long time; he tends to forget this sometimes. He picked you up smirking "Poor girl."
