Aleks' POV

"H-Hey you're not just gonna leave me here are you?" I asked, feeling abandoned after what Jake had done. "Of course I'm leaving. I don't want to get caught in your shit," Kevin replied, slightly annoyed. I can't be left here. I don't know where I am, my head is in slight pain and besides, I got all this food. "P-please, don't leave." I begged, helplessly staring at him. Kevin cursed under his breath and sighed. "Fine, just follow me."

Time Skip

I silently followed Kevin to a crappy old building. What the hell is this? This is a joke right? He opened the door and revealed a dark living room. "You can stay here until you're well rested. For now don't mess with my stuff." Kevin said in his low monotone voice. I nodded then stepped into his broken home. The white walls were no longer in good shape, and was covered in a few stains. The old wooden floor made a loud creaky noise every time I took a step, while an old dusty red velvet couch was set aside with a small wooden coffee table next to it. "S-so um w-what d-do you do around here or..." I stuttered, trying to hide the awkwardness in the air but failed miserably. "You can't trust me Aleks. And I am not your friend." he stated. I held the strap to my backpack tight and stayed quiet. He's right, I can't trust him. I mean, he's just a random guy who lives in a shit apartment building, who happened to save me from that dumbass Jake. "Stay here I'll be back." Kevin mumbled going into one of the rooms down the hallway. I frantically looked around. Maybe he's hiding something valuable in here. Quickly I searched the cabinets and drawers in the small kitchen. There was either old moldy crackers or a bunch of nothing. I looked at the last drawer and tried opening it. It wouldn't budge. I pulled the knob as hard as I could and it made a loud disturbing noise. I looked into the finally opened drawer and I froze.

There was a knife covered in dried blood stains and a small photo of what appears to be a dead teen. My stomach took a hard turn as I stared at the two horrid objects. Why am I terrified? I mean, I killed that girl a few days ago. There shouldn't be any difference right? What is-

"I told you not to mess with my stuff Aleks." Kevin's angry voice interrupted my thoughts and I jumped. "N-no I'm not- I wasn't trying to- I was just curious i-if you-" Kevin took a few steps closer. Panicked, I grabbed the disgusting knife and pointed it at him. "S-stay back!" He laughed and got closer. This can't be the end, oh god please no. I backed up, bumping into the moldy countertop. Kevin swiftly snatched the knife away from me, grabbing my shoulder and raising the bloody knife high. I struggled a bit but my body froze and I couldn't do anything. "I wasn't trying to- I just wanted to see if you had anything valuable, okay!" I yelled, shutting my eyes to embrace the pain.

Kevin's POV

I was surprised what I did next; I set the knife down and crossed my arms and looked at the terrified thief. "Just so you know, these are valuable. To me." I tried making a small conversation just to calm him a bit. Aleks just blinked at me, still filled with fear. "I'm not gonna kill you." I added, looking away. Why am I not killing him? If he gets away, he's gonna report this to the police and my ass will be taken down.

"So do you kill people for money?" he asked quietly. "What?" "If you are, I understand. I'm low on money and I don't have a job or anything. The only thing I can do is kill people then take their stuff," he explained.

"Yeah, being a thief isn't the right job for you," I scoffed, reminding him of his mistake at the grocery store. Aleks glared at me and replied, "It's not my fault my partner was being an idiot."

"It is if you decided to go on a heist with him," I grinned, leaving him speechless.

Silence fell and the awkwardness came in to fill the air. Now what? He seems perfectly fine now to leave my home. Maybe if I-

My thoughts were interrupted by footsteps headed towards the door. "I should get going. Um thanks again Kevin." he said, opening the door. "Hey I never got to answer your question," I grinned, knowing what I was going to say to scare the living shit out of him. "I don't kill people for money. I kill them because I love doing it. Why else do you think I have absolutely nothing in my house?" Aleks froze, probably realizing another mistake he had made. He quickly shut the door behind him, and ran off.

I have no idea what I was doing for the end and I realize I kinda changed the main part of the story DX I'm srry I'm srry
