Slowly but Suddenly

The days had went by slowly but suddenly, the wedding was just a week away and with everything that had been going on Nicole just didn't feel as herself. She knew that she had really messed up with Chris. And she was willing to do anything to fix it. But surely she needed to fix things with Isaac first, to her attention he is still angry.

Isaac wanted an explanation to why Nicole wouldn't answer her phone. He liked her when she kept her word, and if she didn't there was always room for explanation. Not once did she open up about him calling her over ten times, not even a sorry I was busy. Isaac ignored the fact that she avoided eye contact with him until they reached the Cafe.

"Bae is everything okay ?" Nicole looked up from her phone and towards Isaac. She briefly smiled and shook her head. " Yea I'm good, are you okay." He wanted to protest , but he stopped hisself. He suddenly smiled and shrugged his shoulders. His words suddenly catching her attention as she moved a loc of hair behind her ear. Isaac if your wondering why I didn't answer my phone I can explain to you the situation. I went over a friends after the bridal shower.  We got a little wild, as in wild we smoked hell of weed. I was too high to notice that my phone was ringing and I'm so sorry. Next time I promise to be more alert. Although I don't think there will be a next time.    Isaac looked at Nicole and smiled. " your mom told me you drove to Chris house after the bridal shower." Nicole's eyes instantly lit up at the name she had just heard. "Is that what she told you ?" He nodded his head as he continued to sip on his drink. Well I did stop there before I went to Miya's, I was arranging for him to pick Julie up from the airport Thursday incase my mom couldn't. Nicole's heart dropped to her stomach as she noticed that she had just lied to Isaac. She suddenly smiled to clear the thoughts from her head. " I'm sorry Bae I would have told you about Chris only if I felt it was necessary. Nicole mentally thanked herself as she saw the waitress coming back with the food. Isaacs eyes suddenly drifting to the beauty of the waitress. His eyes moving towards her curves as she walked away to refill there drinks. Nicole shifted in her seat causing Isaac's eyes to wonder towards her. She picked up her fork to continue eating  as he suddenly reached for her hand. Baby I'm sorry I'm just not particularly focused today. Everything just seems to be going left. Nicole rolled her eyes as she stuffed a pancake into her mouth. Isaac furrowed his eyes at her reaction. She acted childish for her age, sometimes causing him to second guess his thoughts of marrying her. Something kept picking at his heart, something was different about her, he couldn't put his finger on it.

     The day finally arrived. I stood at the alter waiting to receive my beautiful bride. Everything was set up gorgeously. Nothing could have set the mood more than that beautiful scent of love and happiness. I looked around at all of our family and smiled. My head suddenly dipping to the floor as I second guessed my thoughts of Nicole. It's been a week since we talked at the cafe and she still seemed a bit weird. I figured it was just her reaction about the wedding maybe she was nervous.

My head suddenly lifted as the pastor asked everyone to stand to receive the bride. The music fluttered through my ears as butterflies formed in my stomach. She was gorgeous, she looked amazing walking down the isle. But why Isaac. Chris shook his head and started his way out the door. Nicole turned toward him and smiled, her facial expression soon changed as she noticed he didn't smile back. Julie got up to go after her dad , tears suddenly formed in her eyes as she noticed reality was slapping her in the face. All she ever wanted in life was happiness between her parents, not departure, although things aren't always as they seem to be. She ran out of the church and into the parking lot looking around for her dad. She sat on the curb as she noticed it was too late he was gone, there was no telling when he would come back. Her heart broke into two as she noticed that her dad might not ever want to come back. She knew for a fact that if she could get away from  the position she felt she was placed in she would. Tears  suddenly welled up in her eyes as she  came to an understanding that no one understood. She gathered herself up and made her way back into the  church as she headed for the bathroom, the last thing she needed was for someone to feel bad for her.

Nicole looked at Isaac and smiled , as the pastor United  them as one. "Isaac you may now kiss your bride."  Everyone stood to there feet and hooted and hollered as  Nicole and Isaac shared a passionate kiss.  They broke apart from each other and hoped over the broom dancing out of the church as the songtrist began to sing.

Everyone gathered around at the ceremony hall as they watched Isaac and  Nicole share there very first dance. Nicole leaned her head on Isaac as they each danced to Chrisette Michele a couple of forevers. Tonight was there forever and she was willing to give over her all to him.

As  ceremony came to an end Isaac and Nicole left out to catch there flights. She suddenly  became sad as she noticed it wasn't much that she had said to Julie today. As she traveled through the gates of the airport she decided she would call her and see if she was okay with her aunt and uncle. On the third ring Julie picked up, her voice sounded slightly raspy. Hey baby how are you holding up? I'm pretty good mom I was just on my way to bed, but I can talk for a little. Okay well here you sound tired so just call me tomorrow I won't be mad okay , Nicole smiled through the phone , get some rest pooh. Julie smiled okay love you mom talk to you tomorrow. Love you to honey talk to you tomorrow.
