The organ plays that same tune you hear at every wedding, and the bride walks down the aisle. I stood patiently next to my new step-sister, who's wearing the same blue bridesmaid dress that I'm also wearing. Although we have only met a few months ago, it has been a blast inviting her out and getting to know her better.
Her name is Emily Lam; she was the daughter of my dad's colleague, Fiona Lam. However, from this day onward she's my new step-sister. Emily is a timid and kind girl, but she's my age and it's time I show her how we teenagers act.
In front of us, is Fiona Lam or my new step-mother. She is currently the most famous scientist in the world, but today she put away her lab coat to be in a stunning wedding dress. She is in a long white dress with a sweetheart neckline and a lovely mermaid skirt, in her hand was a bouquet of blue roses. I can tell she was just as nervous as we were, as we stood behind the large wooden doors of the massive church. It was taking a while for the guests to settle down and for everyone else to prepare. Some of the other bridesmaids were getting anxious and Fiona was kind of shaking. The young flower girl, Emily's little cousin, and the ring bearer, my cousin, were adorable and blessed with innocence. They were childishly waiting and messing around in front of Fiona.
The old organ tune finally reached our ears and the ringing sounds of the church bells joined along; the doors at last opened and we slowly progressed through the aisle of the church. All the guests' eyes were locked on us. It was nerve wrecking slowly approaching the platform on which my father and the preacher were waiting. But the flower girl and ring bearer lead us all the way. Emily's cousin, Sidney accidentally toss blue rose petals on some guests' heads instead of on the blue and purple lit pathway that we were walking through. Fiona followed the two tiny children to the platform; Emily, the other bridesmaids, and I form the entire bridesmaids party and once the entire progression made it to the platform we stepped aside. Together with my dad and his groomsmen, we formed an arc with bridesmaids on one side and groomsmen on the other behind the preacher, bride, and groom. Once we all settled into our places, the preacher started the ceremony and my dad and Fiona exchanged their vows. They said their "I do", now it's official, we're a family.
...
After the vows were exchanged, the wedding got exciting. We drove to the banquet which was taking place in a luxurious hotel nearby. There was a lovely dinner and I saw my friends from school who decided to come. My best friends Ai, Alli, Robert, and Tyler who have been my friends ever since we were little kids got to show off their dance moves after the delicious dinner. Robert was on the dance floor showing off his silly moves trying to impress the twins, Ai and Alli. Robert is an extremely kind and hilarious guy. He knows how to put a smile on anyone's face except Ai. Ai is an extraordinarily bright girl; she takes extremely difficult classes yet she can still ace them all without a sweat but she's quite quiet and serious all the time. Which explains why she found no interest in Robert's chicken dance, and decided to talk to Emily about robotic. I have a feeling Emily and Ai are going to be great friends. Then there's Alli, she's the exact opposite of her sister, and she was dancing with Robert despite how strange their moves are, I think it's quite cute. Alli, Ai, and Robert were great friends of mine, but then there's Tyler, he is someone whom I have had a crush on for many years. And just last fall, he became my boyfriend. We were dancing underneath the lovely blue and purple lights. It felt magical and in that moment I just wished time would stand still. I wanted to live in that moment forever. I had a mother, a sister, a father, friends, and a boyfriend. I had everything I ever wanted, but as life is the way it is the wedding eventually ended and everyone had to go home.
...
Within the week, Fiona and Emily finished up unpacking. They managed to move all their belongings into our mansion and finished decorating at quite a rapid speed considering how much stuff they had. Emily got the room next to mine. Once she decorated it and allowed me to see it. It was a mirror image of my room except with the coloring. As soon as I entered there was a makeup table to the right, exactly like the one in my room. Then as I walked around five steps in the room their was a furry white perfectly round carpet on the tile floor, precisely like mine except mine was lavender. There was a large canopy bed, similar to mine as well. The only thing in Emily's room that's not in my room was a shelf on the left wall full cute stuff animals. Even her walk in closet was in the same location as mine. Her bathroom also had the same basic layout as mine. As soon as we were done touring Emily's room, I took her over to my room and she was shocked at how it was exactly like her room. We laughed at the coincidence and how we had the same taste when it comes to room decorating.
After Emily and Fiona finished moving in, my parents immediately left for their honeymoon. We were only sixteen but Mrs. and Mr. Page, our housekeeper and driver respectively, would stay with us; so off our parents left to Paris for their honeymoon, which would last around two or three weeks.
While our parents were gone, I took Emily out with my friends, Ai, Alli, Robert, and Tyler, and she had a good time. We went to the movies, the mall, different restaurants, and the arcade. The most hilarious one was definitely the arcade, Emily was amazing at all the games. She beat Tyler and Robert easily, and left them in shame. We had a laugh there. Emily got a lot closer with my friends, I guess we're kind of like a gang or group. But either way, Emily's a part of it now. Everyone's getting along so well and the summer was quickly coming to an end. Looking back that was the greatest time of my life. Not long after my parents returned from their honeymoon, school started and that's where my story got interesting.
