The last night of the "Halloween Special Tour: Serenade of Shadows" was nearly over, and the venue buzzed with the energy of the crowd. The Velvet Reverie had delivered a memorable performance, giving everything they had to their fans, despite the toll the tour had taken on them. For Valerie, the exhaustion was palpable, but beneath that, there was a quiet undercurrent of anxiety that she had not been able to shake for months.
The obsessive fan who had been following her since early in the tour was always on her mind, and the closer the tour came to an end, the more paranoid she became. Tonight, however, her focus was split. The band had just finished their final song, and the crowd's cheers echoed through the venue. The lights faded, and the crew began to pack up. the equipment, signaling the end of another long, grueling night.
Valerie, though, couldn't shake the tightness in her chest. Every time she heard the fans chant her name or see the flashing cameras, her mind would race back to the messages, the letters, and the constant presence of her stalker. As much as she wanted to let go and enjoy the culmination of the tour, her heart was in a constant state of dread.
It was Simon and Nick who were at the concert tonight, not just as bandmates but because John had asked them to attend with him. The invitation was a silent gesture of camaraderie, a way to show support after everything that had transpired between them. John had insisted that it would be good for them to share this moment together, perhaps even to put things behind them for a while.
Once the concert was finished and the band left the stage, as Valerie was getting ready to go to her hotel room, she was pulled aside by her manager. The news was chilling. The obsessive fan, the one who had been following her for months, had taken his own life.
The weight of the news hit Valerie like a brick, and she found herself in shock. She had never expected it to go this far. The fan had left behind his entire estate his house, his wealth and everything had been willed to her. The notion of someone doing something so extreme for her, someone who had never even spoken to her face-to-face, was unfathomable.
