ELLE
When class was almost over, we had gotten down a few notes and some solid ideas for the project. I really had nothing to be scared of in terms of marks, Rhett seemed pretty smart. The generalization of reserve kids is that they were all stupid, but I was wrong. He wanted to learn and wanted to do well on this project. I was impressed.
We didn't talk much other than discussing me being a good girl or not. I let him decide what he wanted, I didn't have to prove anything to him. He had figured out by the end of class that I was the typical good girl, living my mommy's rules and using daddy's credit card. I let him think that, because it was easier than trying to prove the opposite to him.
When the bell rang, I gathered my things and met Jessica at the front of the class. I glanced back briefly and Rhett was waiting for Chase at the back of the classroom. He smiled at me before I returned my attention to Jessica. Jessica grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the class.
"What's with the new guy?" she asked and her eyes were wide with excitement or fear, I wasn't sure what it was. Her big doe eyes were so big it was starting to freak me out.
"What do you mean?" I asked her and started to walk down the hall. I heard her knee-high leather boots following after me.
"He was getting pretty close to you," she said and huffed.
"He's my biology partner Jessica, he sits next to me. Of course he is close to me," I told her and let the annoyance show in my voice. God, she could be irritating.
"Well?" she asked and raised her eyebrows at me, prying for details.
"He's not that bad," I said and smiled for a second thinking of him, "Nice actually."
"Nice?!" Jessica exclaimed and grabbed my arm, stopping me in the middle of the hallway. Her French-manicured nails dug into my arm, "Reserve kids are not nice!"
"That is such a rude stereotype," I chided and pulled my arm from her grasp and started walking towards out lockers again.
"It's true though!" she cried and followed me, "All they do is smoke and steal stuff! They don't work and are a burden on society."
"Just because your dad uses big words like that, doesn't mean you get to Jess," I said rudely and spun the lock combination.
"Elle! You told me that Reserve kids are bad," she huffed and stood next to me.
"I NEVER said that, Connor did," I told her and cringed at his name. I threw my books into the bottom of my locker, picked up my books for my next class and closed my locker to see Kate now standing with us, her books in her hands.
"Same thing," Jessica said and waved her hand in the air.
"No it's not," I said through gritted teeth, "Connor and I are not the same person. If you don't remember we broke up," I told her angrily.
"Calm down, jeez," Jessica chuckled and flipped her hair over her shoulder.
"What's going on?" Kate asked, looking confused. She looked from me to Jessica and back to me. I tried to control my breathing and clenched my fists, my body almost springing at Jessica I was so mad.
"Elle is defending her new Indian boyfriend," Jessica told Kate laughing.
I sprang on her. I threw my books to the ground and shoved Jessica backwards. She smacked onto the tile ground and I jumped onto her. I pulled her hair and pounded her nose with my fist. Kate tried to pull me off of her, but I just hit her over and over. Blood seeped from her nose and she was crying. Finally feeling satisfied with my little fantasy in my head, I answered Kate.
"He's not my boyfriend Jessica. Why do you have to be such a bitch all the time?" I asked her angrily and grabbed Kate's hand and pulled her away down the hall, leaving Jessica alone and standing there with her mouth open.
I received about ten texts from Jessica saying that she's sorry. I ignored them all during class, and shoved my phone to the bottom of my Coach purse. I thankfully, got to sit next to Kate and told her all about Rhett. She also agreed that Kate was being a bitch and decided to ignore her for the rest of the day with me, which will teach her a lesson.
Usually I would give Kate and Jessica a ride home, but we almost ran to our lockers and ran out to my car to avoid Jessica. She deserve to walk home, she was being so ridiculous! I dropped Kate off at home, she only lived around the corner from me and headed home to a night of homework and avoiding a confrontation with my mother.
