We drove for a long time. Much longer than I'm used to. "Are we almost there?" I asked. I knew that asking "Are we there yet?" While still driving was pretty stupid and childish.
"Almost, Mark. Almost." (The main characters name is "Mark") "OK" I sighed.
After another half hour of driving, we arrived at a small town in the middle of nowhere. We began to unpack for the millionth time and took our stuff into our new "home". It was pretty big compared to our old houses.
It was painted white and had a square kind of design. It had 3 bedrooms,
2 bathrooms and a kitchen. We got it for a really good deal."Alright! It looks like we're done!" My dad shouted with glee(Dad's name is Kevin. BTW).
I settled down in my bed. I was exhausted from the ride which didnt make sense. If I just sat in a car all day, then why was I tired?
I thought about a lot of things that night. My life if I was normal, what kind of people I was going to meet, but most of all, I thought about my mom.
Tears starting running down my face. "Why?" I wasn't sure to whom I was asking to. Myself, the world, god,? I didn't know... and I didn't care.
A faint crimson glow originated from my forehead. "Damn it. Not again." Went out of my room and went into my bathroom.
I looked in the mirror, disappointed in what I saw. I the center of my forehead was one of curses (Simbol in the picture at beginning of chapter).
I studied myself in the mirror. Brown, short hair, green and black striped jacket, with a white T-shirt underneath, and blue jeans. This was my usual appearl.
"Why does this keep happening?" I asked myself. The mark always appeared when I least expected it(Mark, get it? Jokes for days!)
I sighed and thought of what I was going to do about school tomorrow. How was I supposed to cover up the mark? And what were people going to think about the hood?
I lifted off my hood to look at my second curse.
