.~Jade Peterson~.
The cold wind sent chills up my spine as I walked over to me best friend Ruby's house. I couldn't wait to get there... Her house was so warm and cozy. The winters where I lived were harsh, and since the heating in our house didn't work very well, I was an ice block every night.
As I approached Ruby's doorstep, my other friend Jacqueline ran up behind me. I smiled at her and she smiled back.
"I'm glad we get to spend two amazing nights at this paradise," she said, laughing. Mist rose from her mouth from every word.
"Hell yeah. Her house is like a sauna," I replied, laughing also.
I knocked on the door, and Ruby's mother, Katherine, answered almost immediately.
"Good morning, Ms. Carter!" Jacqueline and I greeted simultaneously.
"Morning ladies. Come on in, Ruby's upstairs in her room," she said, opening the door wide. I rushed in and immediately felt my blood become warm again.
"Yasssssss, warmnessss!!!" Jacqueline sang as she followed me inside. We rushed up the steps to Ruby's room and saw her laying on her bed playing on her phone. As she saw us, she smiled.
"Hi!!!" Jacqueline chirped, hopping on to her bed. I sat on the edge next to her.
"Heya! Ya'll excited?" Ruby asked, smiling. Jacqueline and I nodded.
Ruby's cat, Hazel, jumped up on to the bed and hissed. She stared out the window.
At the time we paid no attention to it, but we would soon find out that we were wrong for doing so.
