Chapter 1

   I had always wanted to work at Jurassic world, though in my mind I was not waitressing there. Of course that was the only thing available to me. I am just glad I don't work with the raptors, those Dinosaurs are scary.
   My shift was almost over when a well dressed man walked into the restaurant.
   "Rachel, look it is Mr. Masrani", my friend, Isabelle Young, told me while gesturing with her head toward the man.
   "Why is he here? Is he gonna fire someone? Oh crap, oh crap.", Izzy freaked out.
   "Whoa, calm down. He might be promoting someone or firing Gary.", I said. Gary had a record for braking stuff, I don't know how he hasn't been fired yet.
   "Your right Rach, hopefully Gary will go.", she said relaxing.
   "Miss Baker, may I speak to you?", Mr. Masrani said.
   Oh crapity crap crap I am gonna get fired today.
   "Okay", I said nervously.
   He walked outside the restaurant and sat down on a bench. Because it was so hot most people were inside. I sat down next to him.
   "Jake told me that you like computers.", he started.
   Jake was his son and one of my best friends.
   "So I have decided to let you you work in the control room.", he finished.
   For a few seconds I couldn't function enough to say anything, then I was able to make out a thank you. I gave him a big hug, though I could feel his discomfort so I stopped.
   "Thank you so much I got to go tell Izzy, and thank Jake, oh thank you so much Mr. Masrani", I said.
   "Tomorrow you start. Be in the control room at six thirty. Um, what's his name, oh Larry eh Cruthers will show you what to do.", he said.
   "Oh and you need this", he added as he handed me an identification badge.
   "Now shoo go tell your friends", he said with a clearly fake smile and walked off to go do his job.
   I ran back inside to tell Izzy.
   "Did you get fired?", she asked worried.
   "Nope, Jake told his dad I want to work in the control room and he promoted me.", I said.
   "Great Rach!"
   "I know right!"
   "So I guess I was right about Jake liking you."
   "Well of course he does, we are friends."
   "No I mean like he has a crush on you", she said with a giggle.
   "No he doesn't."
   "Yes he does."
   "No he doesn't."
   "Yes he does.", Gary said walking over.
   "Your both insane.", I said.
   Then Gary dropped a plate.
   "Seriously?!", Izzy and I said.
   "Well I am going to go thank Jake", I said while heading to the door.
   "He so loves you", Izzy said as I left.
   "No he doesn't", I said back.
   "Yes he does" both Izzy and Gary said.
   I walked to the T-Rex paddock and through the log to find Jake giving his usual speech about the T-Rex. He saw me and smiled, I waited until he was done and walked over to him.
   "Hey Rach, did my dad talk to you about anything?", he asked me.
   "Yes he did, he said you told him about my interest in computers."
   He smiled.
   "Well of course I did."
   "Thank you, Jake", I said giving him a hug.
   He hugged me back.
   "So I was thinking maybe we could go to dinner tomorrow night?", he said.
   "Yeah sure Jake we can hang out with Izzy, Sarah, and Josh."
   "No I mean just you and me.", he said a bit saddened by my reply.
   "Oh ok buddy."
   "I mean like a date."
   "Oh oh yeah sure."
   "Great meet me at Winston's Steakhouse at seven thirty."
   "Got it tomorrow, seven thirty, Winston's Steakhouse."
   "Yep."
   I walked to the apartment me and Izzy shared. I sat on the couch and cuddled with my sphinx cat.(yes he's hairless)
   "Mr. Cuddles, Jake asked me out.", I said to my cat.
   "Meow.", he purred.
   "Your hungry aren't you?"
   I put cat food in his dish and cleaned the litter box. Izzy then came home.
   "So, I heard Jake asked you out.", she said.
   "Who told you?", I asked.
   "David heard him ask you and told Sarah, who told Emily, who told Gary, who told me.", she said.
   "Great.", I said.
   "So you like him back.", she stated.
   "Well I don't know, I didn't want to disappoint him.", I said.
   "That's a bad idea.", she said sitting down on the table.
   I went to my room and read a book until somewhere around nine then I went to sleep.
