Chapter 2

So hello peeps sorry for not updating school started up and so did cross country and I almost forgot about this. Please comment if you want more, I need motivation. Sorry if this is short.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock that I set for five forty-seven. I showered then changed into the first thing I found in my closet. I did all the morning necessities and ate some Cheerios and applesauce. Then I headed to the control room. On the way I bumped into someone.
"Sorry", I said.
"It's okay I'm Lowery",he said holding out his hand.
"I am Rachel", I said shaking said hand.
"So you are the person I am supposed to show the magic of the best job ever to", he said with hand waves for dramatic effect and I laughed at him.
"Mr. Masrani got your name wrong", I said with a giggle.
"He does that."
"Lowery and Larry sound very similar."
"I was just gonna use the restroom then I will show you what to do."
"Ok", I said before I leaned against the wall.
Lowery quickly used the restroom and we started walking to the control room.
"So.... What is your favorite movie?", Lowery asked.
"That's like asked what someone's favorite frozen yogurt is, there is no one answer!", I said and gave him a 'seriously' look.
"Ok what about um your favorite dinosaur?"
"Is this like some kind of survey?"
"I just want to get to know the person I will be working with."
"Tyrannosaurus Rex and you?"
"Stegosaurus."
"Cool."
We got to an elevator and Lowery scanned his ID badge and the doors opened. We got in and he hit a button and the elevator started moving.
"So where are you from?", I asked.
"Los Angeles", he answered.
"That's cool I'm from New York", I said.
"Cool", he said as the elevator stopped.
We got out and Lowery showed me around and explained how I would be monitoring the paddocks to make sure the dinosaurs don't get out and eat everyone. But that will never happen. It was almost six before I was done. After that the night guys took over and I went back to my apartment to get ready for dinner. Lizzy was waiting for me there.

"I am telling you you have to wear a dress it is a date", Izzy insisted for the fourth time.
"I don't wear dresses", I said.
"Know what fine but wear something nice", she said giving up.
"Okay", I answered putting on my most formal outfit- jeans, a t-shirt without a graphic on it, and my sneakers.
"Why am I friends with you again?", she asked.
"In fifth grade when I was the new kid at our school, because of the light that fell on the boy at my old school, you were being bullied by Amanda Jones I stepped in and told her bullying is wrong. Then she punched my nose and you took me to the nurse's office where we got to know each other. Oh and by the way Amanda now works at Mc Donald's. I found that out when I visited my mom two months ago", I answered.
"That was rhetorical but okay", she said laughing.
"Hurry or you will be late for your date", she said looking at her watch.
I said bye and went to the stake house.
