Melora awoke to noise around her. She sat up and rubbed her eyes as she noticed elves coming in and out of the room. "What?" she mumbled to herself as she saw Thranduil lounging on the chaise, a goblet in his hand. He smiled when he noticed her sitting up.

"Good morning, Meleth Nin." He beamed. The servants are bringing your clothes so that you have things to wear. I thought we could take a tour of the halls and perhaps the kingdom today, and then you could go through your wardrobe tonight and tomorrow. I also want a healer to look you over, not that I don't trust the healers that were in Laketown, but I want to make sure you are completely healthy," he said as he stood, moving toward her.

"I didn't see healers in Laketown," Melora told me, and his face darkened.

"Bard did not take you to see a human healer when you arrived?" Thranduil ask.

"I was perfectly fine. I had only fallen in a pond for me, but I guess the lake in Middle Earth."

"Perhaps we shall see a healer first, right after breakfast. I ask that the kitchen staff bring you some of your favorites." Thranduil sat on the edge of the bed and brushed her hair behind her ear.

"Thank you," Melora told him earnestly. She smiled softly as the last maid closed the wardrobe in the room and smiled softly at her before leaving.

"Come, Meleth Nin, we shall have breakfast together." Thranduil stood and pulled back the silks and furs, holding his hand out to her. Melora took his offered hand and followed Thranduil to the small table beside the chaise. Thranduil took a seat first and pulled her down to sit beside him. He explained the pastries on the plate to her as she sampled each. Thranduil smiled as she seemed to enjoy a honey and lemon pastry. "Those were always your favorites." He chuckled as she finished it off rather quickly.
"Which one is your favorite?" Melora asked as she looked up at Thranduil. Glancing at the platter again, a pastry with blackberries caught her eye. Melora instinctively picked up the pastry, holding it to his mouth with a small smile.

Thranduil took a bite, chewing, smiling softly at her, "I have always enjoyed anything with blackberries," He confessed.

"I'm sorry," Melora said; she felt her face heating up, "I shouldn't have."

"Do not apologize, Nin Mel; I have no complaints," Thranduil winks as he leans in and takes a second bite of the pastry she still held. Once he finished chewing, he said, "This is one of the things I have missed the most. Sharing breakfast with you before most of the kingdom awakens—those quiet moments.

Melora reaches her hand out, touching his hand. "I wish..." she starts but then stops, taking a breath, "I wish I had the answer to why this happened. I know you said I had been missing for hundreds of years, but I have only lost my memory for almost six years now, I guess, as I have been in your world for six months."

"The why does not matter anymore, Nin Mel; the important part is you are home where you belong with me," Thranduil assured her, "I had thought that if I were lucky, you would be waiting for me in Valinor, but to have the chance to see you again in this life it is more than I could have ever hoped. I do not intend to waste the gift the Valar offered us." Thranduil touches her face and then smiles, "Have you finished."

"Yes, thank you for breakfast this morning," Melora tells him earnestly.

Thranduil rises and holds his hand to her, "Come, let us get dressed for the day." Melora puts her hand in Thranduil's and allows him to pull her to her feet. Thranduil leads her to the wardrobe where she had witnessed things being put in just that morning. He opens the wardrobe and says, "These are all yours; if you do not like the styles anymore, I will have more commissioned for you."
