Zareena's pov
the next day Eleanor and I join maria and charlie on our walk to school, as our parents had realized we were no longer sick, as we were walking maria asked if we were feeling better and what had made us sick Eleanor said "yeah were feel fine now and it was just us dancing in the rain" charlie then groaned while maria had a big smile on her face "what?" i said confused of their reactions "well charlie now has to give me $5" maria says looking smug "why?" Eleanor and I say at the same time "because i thought you guys were just faking sick to get out of school and maria is like fine if they are actually sick you pay me $5 and if not you will get it" charlie says with a sad look on her face 'well then' i thought and we continued the walk to school.
👾👾👾first break👾👾👾
as the bell for first break went i look at Eleanor in relief that nothing happened during the first lesson of the day. as i pack up everything layed out on my desk the rest of the class stampedes to the door where the two class clowns get stuck in the door because they thought it was a good idea to try and walk out at the same time. i laugh a little at their stupidity and wait for everyone to walk out the door, eventually I walk out the door and meet my friends as they walk to the grass area where we eat with all or friends. As I walk I feel something going on with my eyes and I quickly close them and say "Eleanor can you help me to the bathroom, I think I have something in my eyes?" And I open my eyes and look to where she is and see her eyes widen "yeah sure, come on let's go" she says in a rushed voice and I close my eyes again. She walks next to me and loops her arm with mind and guides me to the bathroom and tells me it's clear, I open my eyes to see that they are completely black even the white of my eyes are black "should I be getting some holy water from my bag" Eleanor says in a playful voice "you might want to, don't let me live in misery" I say not holding in my laugh "no but seriously how did your eyes just randomly change?"Eleanor says when she stops laughing "well we haven't learnt how to control our powers yet so they might just freak out on us for a bit" I say as I focus on trying to get my eyes back to normal "great just great, so my hair could just randomly change color during class, this is amazing" Eleanor says her voice thick with sarcasm " well we are going to have to live with it, so get used to it" I say as I watch my eyes go back to normal " I know, I know I just hope it doesn't happen during class" Eleanor says with fear in her eyes. I shrug my shoulders and walk out of the bathroom reassuring our friends that my eyes are better and continue with lunch. I know that Eleanor is thinking the same as me 'please don't let me Change in class'.
