"You broke my glass heart, and you used the broken pieces to carve your name into my skin."
3:46am
Luna's mind drifted off into space. She could hear the thunder from afar, and see the lightning flashing on her walls.
It had been the first rainy night in weeks, and Luna loved it. Something about the pitter of liquid on her window lulled her to peace.
Somehow, the weather always reminded her of him.
9:24am
Sent out to the grocery store by her parents, Luna walked down the street with $25 in her sweaty palms.
Her old neighbor, Mimi, was out on her porch like usual. James was walking his dog in the other direction. Luna tried her hardest to avoid any contact with him. It seemed as though he was trying to do the same.
Sunday mornings were always Luna's least favorite time of the week.
7:27pm
The dinner table was empty. Filled with dirty plates Luna was programmed to clean and put away.
Somehow, even cleaning the dishes reminded her of James. She tried to get him out of her head. She tried to replace him with Declan. She tried to forget about his entire existence. But no, he was engraved in her memory, and that made Luna's head ache.
