The next morning, I've decided to start seeing some friends, old ones, new ones, it didn't matter. I figured it was time I start telling them what's going to happen to me in the next four days. I grabbed my black coat and put on some combats, my long, dark hair, down as usual with a skeletal hand clip on the side. I wanted to visit my old friend, Kayla. I've seen her working at the comic store just around the corner not too long ago, so I chose to go there.
The door's bell went off as I entered the little shop, immediately I noticed Kayla way in the back by the register talking to a tall, long haired guy. I approached the back counter, smiling warmly at them both, greeting them happily. "Hey Kayla, hey Jacob, still together I see?" 'I'm so awkward,' I thought to myself, 'what am I supposed to even say?' "Oh hey," Kayla started, "yeah we're doing fine, here you want to come in the back and talk? There's beanbag chairs" she smiled, raising an eyebrow at me, "hehe sure!" I smiled back. We entered the back room and claimed a beanbag chair to ourselves. Jacob sat down on the black chair, but Kayla crossed her arms and began tapping her foot at him, "well...." she began, "what?" The tall guy looked up at her. "You know that's my chair.." "Your point?" He said smirking at her slightly." "Get up!" She said, still crossing her arms. "Make me." He said, also crossing his arms. "Fine, if you won't get up-" she sits between his legs on the chair pouting, "then you're going to have to share it." She smirked back. Jacob blushed slightly, looking away 'pouting' "hmph, fine then" Kayla looked back up at me as I sat in the blue beanbag chair directly across from them, "so what is it you wanted to talk about?" She smiled at me. "Well... how do I put this..." I began, searching for the right words to say, "I.. I don't know exactly how to say this but, lately, I've been going to the hospital for the past week or so.. they've been putting poison slowly in my body a bit at a time..." Their smiles vanished quickly. "Wha-what do you mean, 'they've been poisoning you'? You're right here alive aren't you?" Kayla said worridly. "Yes I'm still here...for now, but they've realized that I have too many issues to deal with, they told me I should be poisoned and slowly die off..." "And you let them?!" She shouted angrily "That's not okay!" Jacob shouted as well. I raised my hands calmly about midpoint to my body "shh, guys guys guys... it's okay I'm going to be fine, for now anyway, they told me that I have 4 more days to live." I explained. Kayla didn't take it from me, she stood up and looked completely dissapointed in me, "You couldn't have stood up for yourself, the ONE time you actually didn't think something through, especially something so fricken important, especially to your health, I mean fuck dude, YOU'RE GOING TO DIE!" I backed away slowly, I was lost for words, until I finally argued back, "you think I wanted this? I didn't ask for a death wish Kayla. It was destined to be this way since I was born. I don't want to die, but it's better for the world, I just have to accept my fate and deal with it until then." I looked down at my feet, refusing to look her directly in the eyes. "It's not my fault..." I whispered enough so they could both hear me. Kayla looked away with tears filled in her eyes, attempting to keep herself from crying. "I understand now..." she spoke calmly, clenching her fists. "So, what are you going to do now? Did you tell Devon yet?" I looked away once again and went wide-eyed for a moment, "...no...not yet..." she walked up to me slowly and gave me a tight hug, we stayed like that for a few minutes until she finally broke it off, "go tell him, you should spend your time with the one you love the most rather than argue about it with me first." She smiled painfully at me. I couldn't help but apologize, "I'm sorry... and, thank you.." I ran off looking at the time on my watch, "hmph, 11 pm... I'd better start heading home..." I laughed it off nervously.
