"Jiwoo?"

Jiwoo opened her eyes carefully, hearing her name. She carefully sat up, supporting her belly. It hurt. She hissed.

Looking around, she saw the wedding altar. The sun was shining brighter than usual. White rays of sunlight fell from the sky onto her.

On the chair, sat Jake. No, not the photo. The real Jake.

Jiwoo looked over and saw Sunghoon slowly opening his eyes. He had a gunshot wound. Jiwoo looked at her chest. Red.

The girl crawled towards Sunghoon, waking him up. Once awake, Sunghoon immediately made eye contact with Jiwoo. The first thing he did was hug her.

“Where are we?” Jiwoo sobbed, light tears forming in her eyes.

“Heaven,” Jake replied instead. “We're in heaven.”

The couple looked up at the sky. This was the explanation that the sun was shining extremely bright. This was the reason why the altar was lit by rays.

Jiwoo turned her head slowly toward Jake. He sat there with the same crooked smile he used to have, the one she hadn’t seen since before the accident that took him from the world of the living.

His suit was white, brighter than any she remembered him wearing in life before and he looked at peace.

"You both look beautiful," Jake said softly, standing from the chair. “Though I’m not sure wedding dresses and bloodstains go together.”

Jiwoo smiled through her tears. Sunghoon let out a breathy laugh, even as he cradled her in his arms.

His hand gently stroked her hair, brushing away strands that clung to her damp cheeks.

"Jake," Jiwoo whispered. "How are you here?"

Jake approached them slowly, not like a ghost, not like a memory, but like a brother returning home. "Because it’s time," he said gently, kneeling beside them. "It’s time to let go."

Sunghoon held Jiwoo tighter. "Let go of what?"

Jake looked at them both, his eyes soft and kind. "The pain. The fear. The idea that death ends love."

A breeze passed through them, not cold, not sharp, but warm like the first wind of spring.

The altar behind them shimmered as if it were alive, pulsing with some unseen rhythm. Around it, the petals of white flowers began to float in the air, caught in a breeze that seemed to come from nowhere.

Jiwoo blinked. Her chest still hurt, but not as it did before. She pressed a hand to her belly. No blood. Just warmth. Just peace.

"I thought…" she began, voice trembling. "I thought this would be the end."

Jake shook his head. "You think endings look like darkness. But sometimes, endings are light."

Sunghoon reached for her hand. "You’re here. I’m here. I can feel you."

Jake nodded. "That’s because what you’re feeling, what all three of us are feeling, it’s real. Love doesn’t end just because bodies do."

There was silence, but not empty silence. The air hummed, as if heaven itself was singing just beneath the surface of sound..

Jiwoo looked up and saw the sky ripple with gold. It wasn’t just blue anymore.

It had layers of color she didn’t have words for. She felt it in her bones. This wasn’t just an afterlife. This was a continuation. A higher chapter.

"What now?" Sunghoon asked, brushing his thumb along Jiwoo’s fingers.

Jake smiled. "Now? You live."

"We’re dead," Jiwoo said, quietly.

Jake stood and held out both his hands to them. "No. Your bodies died. But you? You’re more alive than ever. You have each other. And where love is, life always follows."

Jiwoo took his hand. Sunghoon did the same.

As Jake pulled them gently to their feet, the altar behind them faded into a soft meadow.

The sky was open, limitless. Fields stretched in every direction, filled with wildflowers that seemed to sway to music only the heart could hear.

From the horizon, familiar shapes began to walk toward them. Jiwoo gasped softly as she recognized her grandmother, long gone from the world, waving gently, her eyes shimmering with joy.

Behind her, Sunghoon’s childhood dog bounded toward them, tail wagging wildly.

And behind that, more faces, some they hadn’t seen in YEARS, others they barely remembered but knew in their hearts.

“Heaven,” Jiwoo whispered again. “It’s not just a place. It’s a feeling.”

Jake nodded. "It’s reunion. It’s healing. It’s every moment you loved, stretched into eternity."

Sunghoon turned to Jiwoo, his face radiant with awe. "We have to start again."

Jiwoo smiled, eyes filled with tears, but this time, not from pain. "No," she said firm. "We don’t start again. We continue."

They walked forward together, hand in hand, guided by Jake. There was no fear. No sorrow. Just peace. And love, endless, unbroken love.

As they stepped into the light, the sun grew even warmer, wrapping them like a soft embrace. The wedding that ended in tragedy became the first day of a new forever.

And somewhere deep within the sky, a voice, not spoken, not heard, but understood.

"Love does not die."

And Sunghoon? He was glad he fell in love again.
