I put on a black tank top that revealed the intricate, black ink on the bottom of my stomach. It was the first tattoo I got, and I was still hiding it from my parents. I put on black, ripped jeans, and ran my fingers through my hair. "What kind of band is this anyway? Should I bother doing my makeup or is it all just going to sweat right off?" I asked Anastasia "I think they're um, death core" more focused on trying to perfect the bun in her hair. "I'll just put on eyeliner and then we'll get going, how'd you hear of them again?" "They're local, from Sheffield, they're guitarist Lee's used to go to my school. He graduated two years ago, but we still talk." Anastasia was my best friend, we met a few years back at art school, and both loved Black Sabbath and tattoos. "Their vocalist is only seventeen" Anastasia said, finally getting the bun right and having more time for me. "Oh so he's our age" I said, "yeah, and I heard he's really cute" she smirked, "I'm sure you're in for a good night then." Anastasia was always looking for boys, I loved that about her. I was shy, but still had my fair share of hookups, I just never moved forward with them. I focused on my art, and listened to a lot of music. I was going to open up my own tattoo shop one day, and be a famous tattoo artist. I was a lover of permanent things, and people are never permanent.
"Do you want to drive my car home tonight?" Anastasia asked me, using the smile that got her everything she wanted. "Fine, I won't drink... just tell me how to get to the club." Being only a couple blocks away, we arrived soon. I automatically went to the bar, and then remembered Anastasia made me designated driver, I got a coke and lit a cigarette. "Have an extra?" I look up, a boy with long, dark hair, and lovely brown eyes was staring at me. I handed him one, "need a light?" "no, but I'll tell you I do just so I could stay here longer" I smiled, "put it in your mouth" I said, and that's when I noticed the rose tattoo on his hand. I kissed my cigarette to his, to light it. "That's a beautiful tattoo on your hand" "thanks, I have plenty of others... maybe one day I could show you" I smiled, and felt myself getting red, thank God it was dark in here. "so you like death core?" he said, nodding his head toward the stage, a band was playing...but not the one Anastasia brought me here to see, they were going next. "yeah it's good, I mean my friend brought me here with her, she's friends with one of the lads in Bring Me the Horizon, she said they're really good" "uh no, they suck" "you've seen them before?" "they're not a good band" his face was straight and uninterested, did he expect me to LOVE death core? or did he want me not to like it at all? "Well I can't take your word unless I see them for myself" His change in emotion, frustrated me. His phone buzzed, "What's your name?" he said, "Hannah, what's yours?" he looked down at his phone "I got to go Hannah, nice meeting you" he threw the cigarette behind the bar, and walked away.
