DeShawn's POV
After my encounter with that crackhead, I headed to the park so I could prepare myself for the next day.
When I arrived there, I gathered the small blanket I found in the middle of the street to cover myself and I found myself drifting off to sleep.💭 Dream/Flashback 💭
*6 years ago*"Mommm! Can I please get some candyy!!" I loudly stated after we came from the dentist office.
"DeShawn you know you can't have candy right after you came from the dentist." I opened my mouth to speak but it was interrupted by my father who was driving us home.
"Anita I think this might be the last time DeShawn could be able to go to the dentist."
"What do you mean Marcus?" My mom questioned with small fear in her eyes.
"Anita, we don't have insurance for DeShawn, and these days it's very expensive to get some."
"I just knew it..."
"All this time I've told you to at least find three insurance companies, go to the nearest one and apply for DeShawn, to come to think of it you probably still have the stack of money I worked very hard for..." I sat in the car thinking what was going on, not really understanding what they meant by 'getting insurance' but remained quiet and listened to what my parents were talking loudly over.
"Anita, you have to hear me out, I didn't want to get the insurance for DeShawn because going to the dentist isn't important for him and we're just wasting money over something he does in the morning." Dad added.
"I really can't believe you, so where did you go when I sent you to go 'cause you definitely weren't looking at insurance companies." Mom snapped. My dad remained silent still driving us home.
"ANSWER ME!" My mom said but this time she was angry. Her brown eyes that matched mine flashed with fury. With anger she yanked my dad's arm, making the steering wheel turn and the car spinning into another car then sliding off of the road. As we all spun around in the car, I heard screams of both of my parents and glass shattering everywhere. A few moments later, our family car was totaled and landed upside down. All that could be heard was the sound of the ambulance making out way towards our car.🏥🚑At the Hospital👷🏾
Hours later, I woke up surrounded by numerous nurses who had worried looks on their faces.
"What happened? Where are my parents? How did I get here?" I had so many questions but none of them were being answered.
The doctor sighed heavily before answering my question. "...You and your parents were in a very dangerous accident, your car was found totaled on the side of the beltway. The ambulance rushed over and found you unconscious with a broken leg, rib, and arm. Your parents were also found but they were both dead at the scene, meaning they died instantly when the accident happened." I couldn't believe what I was hearing at that moment my ears began to sting and my eyes filled with tears.
"YOU'RE LYING. THEY AREN'T DEAD. WHY ARE YOU LYING TO ME!!" I shouted at the top of my lungs making sure the everyone could hear me clearly. I strangled my out of my hospital bed but was stopped by the nurses and the doctor. At this point I was balling my eyes out everywhere. The thought of my parents being gone were unbearable. The nurses allowed me to have time and gather myself up. 15 minutes later a woman in black and white suit walked up to me and explained to me about how I was going to need a new home and how there were other kids who also needed homes. I instantly knew that I was being put in an orphanage as soon as I left the hospital. Minutes later, I was getting into a fancy car with the lady who was taking me to the orphanage.....*Reality*
The sound of the alarm on my phone vibrated loudly and vigorously as I sat up on the park bench waking up from my terrible dream. I finally realized what really happened to my parents in that car.I know it was a bad ending but I wanted to get this chapter over with. But I have come to my senses that I cannot write a twenty page chapters because it took me hours just to write this one. But yea I'll be back in two days to give you another chapter.
