It was a normal day in Wonderland, the Hatter was being mad, the Red Queen was ruling, and all was madness .
However, one thing wasn't the same. Our dear ol' Alice had disappeared.
Where had she gone?Scattered in pieces from here and there.
There is a sense of danger in the air.
Shall we go solve this mystery? The Mad Hatter was feeling uneasy as she too, felt the danger in the air. Filled with worry, the Hatter knocked on the Queen's door.
The Red Queen allowed the Hatter to enter her palace. The Red Queen sat comfortably on her throne, going over some work related letters.
"Um... My Queen, I apologize for disturbing you w-while you are working... B-but Alice hasn't been around lately and I am worried that something may be wrong." The Hatter stammered, trying to find her words.
"Hatter, what do you suppose I do with that information? I have people complaining about other things! I don't have time to play games with you and Alice right now." The Red Queen says harshly, drinking her tea.
"You're right my Queen... I shouldn't be bothering you with such childish things." And with that, the Mad Hatter left the palace.
At that moment, Cheshire the cat appeared. "Seek and thee shall find."
"I have no idea what that means you bothersome cat." The Hatter says as she looked at Cheshire.
"If you want to find your dear Alice, go look for her. You'll never know what you may find... But of course, you may not like what you find." And with those words ringing in the air, Cheshire the cat left.
"Gosh! That cat is rather odd. But either way I must find Alice." The Hatter glanced at her watch, "But I'll do that after tea time."
At tea time, the Hatter couldn't help but think about what Cheshire had said. "Seek and thee shall find.." She repeated those words to herself over and over again. As time passed, the Hatter found herself getting increasingly worried. What had happened to her friend? Was Alice alright? The White Rabbit watched the Hatter's troubled face and asked what was wrong. The Hatter merely smiled and waved away the Rabbit's worries.
After tea time, the Hatter went out to search for Alice, but not before seeing the Queen . The Queen looked up from her work and sighed in annoyance as she realized it was just the Hatter. "This better be good, Hatter."
"My Queen, Alice still hasn't appeared and I'm getting worried! It's disrupting my tea time! So I have come to ask for your permission to search the entire kingdom for Alice. " The Hatter says.
The Red Queen looked at the Hatter before asking, "If I let you search the kingdom, will you stop being such a pest?"
"Yes." The Hatter says as she looks at the Queen with a wide smile. " With that smile you truly do look mad." Replied the Queen as she went back to her work.
"But aren't we all mad? You're mad. I'm mad. Madness exists in everyone." Cheshire appeared with her signature grin.
The Red Queen simply ignored the cat. "You have my permission to search the whole kingdom. However, this is now a game. If you get caught by my knights then well... OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!"
The Mad Hatter sighed, she should have known that the Queen would make a game out of this. But then a thought entered the Hatter's head.
"Fine, but only on one condition!" The Hatter said as her smile widened even more.
"Ugh. Wipe that smile off your face." The Queen said harshly. "Well, what is it? Spit it out!"
"I get to have my weapons back. The kingdom has parts that even you can't control and I need my weapons to fight off any difficulties that may cross my path." The Hatter said .
"Fine. You may have your weapons but no more requests!" The Red Queen waved the Hatter off and went back to her work .
The Hatter thanked the Queen and went to the library. At the back of the library was a mirror. But of course this is Wonderland, so this wasn't any ordinary mirror. The Mad Hatter smashed the mirror with her hand. The mirror reacted to her blood and a secret passage appeared. She went down a series of stairs and into a room where her weapons were being held. First she took her cane, then her scissors and lastly, the first hat she ever made.
"What could you possibly do with a cane?" Cheshire grabbed the hat and flew slowly around the Hatter, taunting her.
"Hey! Give me that hat! It's dangerous." The Hatter snatched her hat back.
Cheshire grinned, "Finally off to find the truth? Beware of the dangers that lay ahead."
The Mad Hatter grinned, "Let me show you what this cane can do." The Hatter grabbed the cane and pulled out a sword.
"Well hello!" Cheshire grabbed the sword and flew out of the Hatter's reach. "You sure are prepared, aren't you?"
The Hatter pulled out the first hat she ever made and showed Cheshire. Cheshire touched the hat gently, absolutely fascinated, and grinned. "Your hats sure are lovely. If the Queen's knights catch you, may I keep it?"
"Cheshire, its not just any ordinary hat." The Hatter said as she walked outside. She grabbed onto the rim of the hat, only for it to fire multiple needles, much like a machine gun.
Cheshire floated above the Hatter's head. "Even more reasons for me to keep it if you get caught."
"That just gives me another reason on why I should NOT get caught, you silly cat." The Mad Hatter laughed.
"Shouldn't you start to look for your dear Alice?" Cheshire asked.
"I guess I should!" And with that, the Hatter said her goodbyes and set off to find Alice.
